Well there's one important question here: do you attempt WILD right at bedtime? Or do you sleep for 3.5–7 hours first? Because I've attempted WILD at bedtime before and got nowhere after laying there for 2 hours. I got to the SP transition like you, but it's almost impossible to get any further than this without waiting a very long time, because you will have to actually go through all your usual stages of pre-REM sleep (which can last up to 2 hours) before getting to REM. All dreams (90%are formed in REM sleep.
If you ARE sleeping for 3.5–7 hours (or doing it in the afternoon timeslot), then please specify exactly what you do during the WILD before I offer some help.
