Missed 25+ / Remembered ~20 (my first half-day)
Missed ~70 / Remembered ~65 (second day)
This thread was created to help motivate us to be more concious and aware while awake, which in turn should help us attain lucidity more frequently. Starting out by concious effort everytime we pass threw a door, ask our selves, "I am dreaming?" and to make good observations of the room that we are entering. If we notice something out of the ordinary, do your favorite reality check. BillyBob made an excelent post about the technique:

This thread is a place to post how many doors you remember to be observant at and how many you forgot. (I think keeping track of the number of doors that we missed will help us to be aware at them the next time. Also this will help you start to notice how minimal our level of conciousness is while awake. For me at least, I have forgoten 5 doors in a row, I knew that I must of passed threw them but had no memory of it because I was lost in thought. And I couldn't remember what I was thinking about, I was as good as asleep.)
Everyone is welcome to join.

Ahhh I've been trying to follow my adopter with this.
It's taking me some time but I am slowly but surely started to think about doors more.
I have yet to actually REMEMBER any doors or REMEMBER missing any, but now a few times throughout the days I'll be like, "CRAP I NEED TO COUNT SOME DOORS!", so I am thinking that eventually I'll start remembering instead of forgetting

Its important to remember that its not the door you should be worried about, but the room that comes after it.
I can't remember a single dream where I actually walked through a doorway, but yet in every dream I have I pass into a new scene.
View this type of reality check as how many new scenes you pass into, the doors are just an unfortunate bi-product (remember too that when walking around outside your constantly passing into new scenes of sight, etc).
That way you reality check when the scene changes, and not just when you randomly walk through a doorway![]()

.
I know, Bisch explained it to me [I love Bisch]
but for me to even notice the ROOM I need to learn to remember the DOOR, because if I can't even remember the DOOR yet, then I know I'm not even going to remember the room.
I've just got to keep getting on my case about remembering obviously haha.

Oh sorry about that, I wasn't replying to you directly
I figured Bisch/you knew this, I was just making sure any newbie that found this thread would understand the reasoning behind door reality checks in general.
But yeah, the door is important in that most of the time irl you must pass through it before entering a new scene. I was just saying that when your doing the reality check your focus should be on the new world you just walked into, not the doorway itself that you stepped through![]()
.
Great topic!
Sounds like a good addition to my regular prospective memory training, but much more intense throughout the day.
Have been reading your Dream Yoga post several times and it sounds really interesting. I'll start focussing on the new scenes from now on![]()

Lucid count 2008:
DILD=14:: WILD=8 :: total lucid time: approx 3h 50 mins
2007: DILD=16, WILD=13, total lucid time approx 1h 50mins
I'm done counting for the day. Missed 20 so far, remembered 30.

I sometimes lose lucidity when I pass through a door in a lucid dream. That makes this RC a good one for me, though I only do it when I enter or exit a building or vehicle.
