Sounds like it was amazing.
Last night I had the longest, most intense, real, clear, vivid Lucid dream I have ever had! I started to write it down but I just could not find words for it with all feelings and how epic it was. At one point it was so real and my thinking so like when I’m awake that I got scared and thought that I might be moving on to the “other side” and leave this life. The conversations with my DCs, How I felt my self go to higher levels of awareness. I’m at a bit of loss for words here…
I was really tired when I went to bed. I had some thing to eat right b4 bed. Maybe 6h later I woke up and was still pretty tired. I went up and took a 5-HTP and a “Snus” (Swedish tobacco product that you keep under your lip. Like a nicotine patch but stronger and WAY cheaper). I went to bed and did not even try to WILD. I just got straight in to dream world after falling asleep and got lucid after pinching my nose and breathed in trough it. It lasted for maybe 45min – 1h. It was MIND BLOWING. It felt just as real a when I’m sitting here writing this. For all I know this could just be a continuation on that dream! Going to have something to eat and go to bed now… Give you a update 2 morrow after I try it again…

Well doneIt's very exhilerating to have such an awesome experience, isn't it?
Wow! Getting dreams like that, where it is too mind blowing to put into words...that's everyone's goal. Inspiration to keep trying to get lucid (even though I am trying anyways, maybe i'll try harder). Cool.
Congrats, RAZ !!! Another convincing report on the LD effects of nicotine. Keep us posted on your progress.

Its funny my dream journal is nothing but lucids because I can remember those so clearly. Regular dreams seem so fragmented with little direction or making sense.
Like I said it is amzing, but I didn't really pay attention to the nicotine part. Nicotine is not a good thing, I mean it's not going to kill you if you don' t use to much, but I personally am strongly opposed to drug-aided LDing.Originally posted by ZenVortex

Anyways, that experience sounds really awesome and mind-blowing, even if it was nicotine aided. I don't agree the idea, but it's your decision waht you put in yourself, and if it works, it works.
i only had 2 LD's so far.
not very long ones but the first time i ever had an LD i wasnt scared at all.
i found it very exciting and fun. (thats the main reason they didnt last very long)
The matrix has you
Quick update b4 I go to bed… Just got home from work and its 4 in the morning… Nicotine is a wonderful tool in a stres related work enviorment. Unlike with cigarettes I don’t mess up my lungs and it lasts for ages. Dont get me wrong. If I was not in the line of work I'm in now I would not use the stuff on a regular basis (started to use it a few weeks ago)... Addictive as hell..
Last night:
Woke up after 4½h sleep. 5-HTP and a Snus. Took a long time for me to get back to sleep. Think it was because I was to exited and had a difficult time to just relax. Extremely vivid dreams and a lot of really cool scenarios but lack of sleep made it hard to remember and experience as clearly as the night b4. I also had a snoring flat mate that made the whole thing much harder…

Ya - you wont mess up your lungs but I'm sure if you keep using it you will be well on your way to a nasty case of oral cancer.![]()
By the way, what is a 5-HTP?

thid the dream fell as real as:i yust woke up,i'm going to the balcony,i see trees and rain,it looks normal and smels normal, and the fact that i'm flying is normal
Was it like this, like normal activity?
That is wrong. They had to remove "This product may cause cancer" and replace it with "This product may harm your health and is addictive" as all research done on it (and it's allot) points that it dose not cause cancer. Used in moderation it’s not that bad… Like coffee…Originally posted by Nikolaa+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Nikolaa)</div>No it was real as in: I know I'm dreaming but I am in the same state of mind as when I'm awake.thid the dream fell as real as:i yust woke up,i'm going to the balcony,i see trees and rain,it looks normal and smels normal, and the fact that i'm flying is normal

Last night:
Had 6h sleep... Tried to get back to sleep for 1h but seeing how good the weather was just distracted me to much. We had the longest winter ever over here and spring just exploded. Went out and did some exercise in the sun b4 I had to get ready for work...

To appreciate the potential of nicotine, we must overcome any bias against people who smoke and chew tobacco. The bottom line is that nicotine is an effective LD stimulator and many people can probably benefit from it IN MODERATION. My research suggests that nicotine is the most effective LD stimulating substance currently known, better than Calea, galantamine, huperzine, etc. I think we must change our attitude and sImply regard tobacco as another dream enhancing herb.
Instead of using a nicotine patch or chewing it, an alternative would be to put some chewing tobacco in a gelatin capsule -- just like one does with Calea, mugwort, or any other dream enhancing herb -- and ingest it after a few hours of sleep along with some 5-HTP or melatonin.

And about hating on the people who smoke/use tobacco...have some sympathy folks, some of us are trying to quit
My guess is that the most rational reason for why nicotine may aid in LDs is that Nic is a stimulant and incites neurons to fire. In other words, a small dose of caffeine could be equally effective. I stand firmly beside the caffiene LD. I've never had any other substance taht worked as well. And I wouldnt be surprised, that some of you who claim to LD naturally, are ingesting caffeine during the day in some form or other. That Coke an hour before bed might be helping you have LDs more than you know. Just a thought.
We who are about to dream, salute you!
Last night:
I had about 6h sleep. My flat mate woke me up as he left the apartment. I was so tired from work this weekend that I got straight back to sleep for another 2h. 8h sleep still feeling pretty tired. Had my 5-htp with some water and a snus just by my bed so I did not even get up. It did not take long for me to get back in to dream world. This one was nearly as massive as my 1st one in this post. But it was not as clear and I had to do a RC by pinching my nose and breathing in 3 times in total.
At one point a DC comes up to me and complains: “I have tried everything! You just wont get angry!” “You want anger? I will give you anger!” I went outside and found a car full of thugs. One sticks his head out of the roof window and looks like a Cyclops. I run up and punch him in the face and they turn in to super villains. I take off flying among skyscrapers shooting bolts of energy at them. Then suddenly I’m spiderman. And one sec later All that exists is a spiderman comic and a black void around it. I cant feel my dream body. I start feeling my hands and notice that they are wearing spiderman gloves. Still cant feel or see any other part of my body. All that exists is this spiderman comic and my hands and a black void. I start flipping trough the pages and it is AWSOME. It’s about spiderman going in to space fighting aliens and robots and the art was mind-blowing! There is no text but the story line is easy to follow with a nasty arch villain in the end. I wake up shortly after going “in to the comic”. This was the last of many lucids I had for about 2h. The ones in the beginning I remember a bit fuzzy and some parts where clearer then others.
The biggest factor this time was that like in my 1st attempt I did not have a snoring flat mate to bother me. I find that when I’m in a state of mind where I’m aware of my dreams and remember them clearly I wake up really easy from any outside noise. On a few occasions the dream would fade out and I could feel my self waking up. When this happened I would just let go and relax and moments later realize that I was back in dream world.
Think I might have a soft drink next time I try...

Attaboy, RAZ !!! Sounds like you have a winning combo. Good job, amigo. Keep us posted with future experiments.
TORCHER: I really like your caffeine LD theory. What I'm going to do is put some tea in a capsule and take it with 5-HTP or melatonin after a few hours of sleep. The reason I like capsules is: a) I'm a "pill-head"B) taking a pill usually delays the impact of whatever is in the pill until one is asleep. I think many people go after "exotics" such as Calea or galantamine because they are exotic, when there may be better substances already present in their kitchen...
Update for yesterday night:
I had about 6h sleep. Decided to try having a cup of coffee before going back to sleep. This ended up with me not going back to sleep
last night:
Had about 3h sleep when the cat woke me up so I figured I would try a coffee again. Last time I go for that as I ended up having as much trouble going to sleep as the attempt before. I decided to take 2 more 5-htp that made me feel a little nauseous but I got to sleep and had A LOT of vivid dreams with a whole bunch of really cool lucids over a period of maybe 3h. My recall was massive. Think I will put a hold on the 5-htp for a few days just to be on the safe side. (it did not feel very healthy taking that on a empty stomach). Next time I will just eat a peace of chocolate or something that will give me some energy and caffeine but not make nearly as much as coffee. Also I found that after writing about me using the command “watch” in the thread about lucid mp3s and a little more in depth here: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31165
I found that I automatically started using it more spontaneously while awake and in my dreams. Will be interesting to se what long term effects this has…
That’s a idea… Writing down your intentions as a story or similar to make a imprint in your brain on what you are trying to do. I also found that writing about my attempts gives me a clearer view on the whole thing.

so, a few days ago i came across various people on various sites raving about how nicotine patches have given them the most vivid dreams of their lives (only found this thread today with a search)
figured...what the hell. if they have warnings on the box telling one to take off the patch during night if it gives them crazy dreams, it must be a real effect.
bought some generic 21mg patches. wore one for the first half of the night, until i felt a little sick due to so much nicotine (i only smoke when drinking nowadays, though i smoked a couple packs a day as a teen), then took it off.
VERY vivid dreams...indistinguishable from waking life in most parts. i did not become lucid that i remember, but at one point i became aware of myself in SP. i moved the vibrations throughout my body for some time, but couldn't disengage.
on the whole a very compelling experiment. i plan to work nicotine into my infrequent, cycling ingestion of B-vitamins, calea, silene capsis (when it finally arrives), and small doses of tryptamines. thus far, it is the most promising virgin voyage.
i laughed this morning because soon i'll be taking more substances to enhance my sleeping life than those which i take to enhance my waking life![]()
