DVILD - Dream Views Induced Lucid Dream

It occurred to me while driving today...

If I do an RC every time I encounter anything that reminds me of DV, every time I think about it and every time I get online here, I could end up with a lot of DILDs! This place is such a part of my life that it enters my dreams all the time.

With the amount of time, effort and thought that a lot of us put in here, I'll bet I'm not the only one this would be an effective dreamsign for.

      Think about it.

Good one!! I don't think of DV when I'm not around a computer though (surprisingly, heh)... but hey, this would probably be one of my more successful dream signs.

You know what, this is a great idea!

Why didn't someone think of it before?

And I also usually get on DV right before going ot bed, so it's usually one of the swimming around in my head at bedtime.

No kidding! I've been thinking about this one recently. I mean, just check out the "Post your DV member dreams here" thread. I dream about you lot all of the time these days, and now I'm starting to integrate this into my reality checking. I ask myself, "Am I supposed to be on DV right now? Does everything look normal?"

I'm certain I'll have more DILDs this way.

I really should do more RC's when I'm here because it comes up a lot in my dreams too. I don't think I've ever gotten lucid because of it--it's about time!

Yah, I've actually been doing this for like a week or 2 now. Everytime I think about DV I do a RC. So far I've had 1 LD from it

LOL the only dreams I had about DV were lucid (the ones I recall of course)

my first lucid involved DV - I had a false awakening, and got lucid... then I lost lucidity and was at DV, and got lucid again xD

That's the reason i have the big "Reality Check!" in my sig!

Actually, in dreams i've been on a computer twice and not checked DV. If i had, i'd have become lucid

      So...your technique > mine!

      Hahah.

I had my first Lucid last night. And it was because of this forum!

I was sitting around at my computer browsing DV, and this thread suddenly occured to me. "Hey wait a minute..." Then I counted my fingers to RC and sure enough, I was dreaming!

There was a problem though.. I started getting excited and the dream was fading, so I sat down on the floor and started rubbing my hands together and just tried to keep it together.

But I failed and the dream faded. I found myself back in my bed.. I thought "Damnit!" and sat up on my bed.. The thing is.. This was a false awakening, and the following dream took place in my house after I had woken up. and it was my birthday.. People kept pouring in to the party I was obviously having in my house all of a sudden.

I kept thinking "This isn't right... I think i'm dreaming, but.. it's so real. I just don't know. What are all these people doing here? I just woke up damnit" etc. And when I eventually went out for a smoke, I remembered something someone said in the newbie section about his cigarette turning into a lip balm in his dream. So with this in mind I lit a ciggarette to examine what'll happen.

All I noticed was the smoke was very very thick, so this didn't convince me entirely, but I had my suspicions.

Then a friend of mine asks me to turn around, and when I do, I spot a huge turkey with 3 legs on my front lawn. My first reaction is like "Hmmm.. How many legs is a turkey supposed to have.. Is that really normal?" And while I was pondering on that, I woke up.

This was also by far the most vivid dream I can remember having

      It is a viable method!

Now get to work on those stability and control issues.

I think about DV a lot during the day, but weirdly enough, I never think about it in my dreams - even if my dream includes a DV member. So I'm not sure doing an RC would work for me... but it's a good idea, pj!

Will it also count as a DVILD if I do WBTB and read posts on DV during my awake time? It normally helps me get a lucid if I read other people's experiences at 4 in the morning.

      I love it.

Yeah. Before this I doubted that I could become lucid through DILD, but this really gave me a boost in confidence. Now that I know what that awareness feels like, i'm hoping i'll be more collected next time it happens.
