Sounds like you where semi lucid because you where scared to wake up your mom but you where aware your dreaming

The way i made the spin trick work is i would close my eyes and think of a place i wanted to go and spin
when i opened my eyes i was there
o and people say you cant feel pain but thats a load of bs you can make it to where you don't feel pain but you CAN feel pain in dreams

hell a couple dreams i had ago i go a wooden poll shoved threw my stomach by a demon
and damn it hurt... worst pain i have ever felt

anyways some lucids are awesome....
Some are not

You can't do much actually. It's just a question about time.
More LDs is more experience, which is more control.

im not sure exactly as to my "level" of lucidity. i mean, i obviously knew i was dreaming enough to try LD things like flying and such. i think i just couldnt accept the uninhibitedness at the time, like it was too overwhelming to imagine i can do WHATEVER i want with no consequence. i dont know how i got the balls up to jump out my window. one time when i jumped out of my window with the intent of leaving my house i dont remember actually GOING anywhere, but i do remember seeing the outside image of some house ive never seen before. i hope with the next oe i can center myself better.

well maybe cause you were not totaly sure it was a dream, that made you think that i could be real. And if it could be real you would feel pain. so maybe it was just the placebo. Ive fallen 200ft and hit the ground in lucid dreams and havent felt any pain. Oh and i think the lucid dream would have been better for ya if you just used the door. the window doesnt seem to like you lol

But seriously, my first LD it was the same; I knew I was dreaming but was afraid of waking people up. I think it's just because you're not used to being lucid. With more experience, as soon as you're lucid, you'll have the confidence needed to do what you want more easily. Good luck.

We can have good dream and bad dreams, even if they are lucid. It is still your manifestation. But the problem with many lucid dreams that go badly do manifest. Things become exaggerated because they are focused on. But it is just an experience.
All it takes is confidence to change it. However that is often easier said than done when you are in that actual experience.
I hate to use this analogy, and I don't know if you can even relate (I hope kinda not) But it is like a bad acid trip. ---It is a frame of mind.

yes, i can relate quite well. actually, certain parts of the LD experience felt like a mushroom trip i had where i felt like i was in this completely empty meaningless dream world.

I think there is a learning curve with Lucidity and Dream Control.

A big step is to recognize its a dream. But after that you have to really understand what it means.

Part of our mind is still dreaming, and its easy to get caught in the dream logic - e.g. these people in the dream are people not just dream characters.

So much of the dream environment is based on beliefs which can be stronger than thoughts. (e.g. if its a dream I should be able to fly).

Good advice is to experiment with different tasks that you believe are easy. (e.g. it was easy for me to believe I could fly, but hard to believe objects are not solid).

As you get confidence your control increases.

i kind of just did it...i guess i didnt think it would hurt...but it did. it even bashed me in my front teeth, it felt like it would in waking life.

The key to doing something in your dream is to believe you can do it. Believe it can happen. It's a little confusing and hard to adjust to this new "logic" the first couple times, but eventually you'll get it! It's like anything: practice makes perfect.

Becoming lucid is the first part. Once you're there, you need to be able to control your movements. It helps if you have a strong reason for wanting to lucid dream so that when you actually enter a lucid state you remember why you're there and don't have to waste time thinking "gee, what do I do now?"

Along with having a strongly defined purpose, the method of creating experiences in the lucid state takes some practice. If you want to be on a spaceship flying through hyperspace, you have to actually 'feel' as if you are already there. Imagine the experience down to the tiniest detail, like what the sounds are around you, what sensations of motion, what visuals you can see, and so on. Like Otter said, you have to believe it can happen, and more than that you have to feel it actually happening, even if it isn't.

In other words fake it until you make it.
