Having trouble keeping my eyes closed when I'm seeing H.I...

Every time I start seeing H.I it's hard for me to keep my eyes relaxed, like for some reason I want to open my eyes. I can get to this stage pretty easy just takes me a few minutes.

I have the same problem, it's like my eyes are trying to blink while closed. All I do is ride it out and it goes away, but I'd love to hear other suggestions too.

Could it possibly be the body testing to mind to see if it is asleep?

I just noticed the same thing last night myself. My eyes just really, really wanted to open. Finally, I gave in and of course, was right back perfectly awake in bed. I suppose I just should have ignored it, but it was like they were opening by themselves!

I had this problem as well, but after a lot of practise it has gone away. Maybe it is down to totally relaxing OR If you believe in chakras and energy body - some say that it could be your 3rd eye opening and your eyes feeling like opening could be seeing through it. When you are in meditation (which WILD-practising basically is) you are building up energy in to your chakras (energy-centers) so you could get some surprising things happening. More practise leads to better control of this.

TJuulsgaard, I am all about the chakras and what you posted makes a lot of sense to me! I think next time it happens, I will remind myself that it might just be my 3rd eye opening and that might be enough for me to ignore it!

I also might try a mask, just in case it is a physical reaction.

The mask sounds like a good idea, that way even if you do open your eyes, you should be able to get back to were you were before you did. I also think it's possible it is a test to see if your awake or not, when you start seeing the HI do you start concentrating on it? If you do maybe you could try paying less attention to it, maybe focusing too hard is stopping you from staying relaxed?

I also get this alot, but i think it is simply because you are trying to look while your eyes are closed. Your eyes are trying to see so it is natural that your body wants to open the eyelids, as we arent used to trying to focus on the inside of our eyelids. Who knows for sure.

I get the oppisite. My eyes tighten a lot when I start seeing HI for some reason

I guess my best advice is to wear a sleep mask or get something comfortable to put over your eyes

I had a sleep mask that was polyester, and a little uncomfortable. Now I just use a cotton bandana.

      This is a simple solution.

I use a sleepmask called the 'Mindfold'. Its really good and I would recommend it to anyone.
I have seen HI in the form of a swirling white cloud. Smaller wraiths break off it and pass overhead. When this happens I feel my eyes are physicaly being dragged open to watch.

I've experienced HI with my eyes open. It just overwrote my regular vision. I feel like opening my eyes if I concentrate too much, so consider that as a possible cause.
