DILD stands for Dream Induced lucid dream as i'm sure you already know. I believe this is caused by RC during the day, and working to notice your dreamsign. A DILD will happen when you are in a normal dream and something causes you to become lucid, (noticing a dreamsign, or performing a RC) Correct me if i'm wrong.

What Gavin says is true. The only way to highten your chance of getting a DILD, is to do WBTB and MILD. If you're doing MILD, you're doing DILD

There's a limited number of ways of entering a LD:

1. DILD - you loose awareness then realise you are dreaming and go lucid.

2. WILD - you go into a LD without loosing awareness either at the start of the night or having woken during the night (could be a type of WBTB)

3. EXTERNAL AID - a variety of ways where someone or something else helps you LD whilst asleep e.g. Nova dreamer, audio, a friend whispering 'you're dreaming when they see REM etc.


For DILD - there are only a few basic techniques, with lots of variety depending on what works best for the dreamer:

i. Making affirmations during the day that you will be-, or will remember to be, lucid during the night. (for a DILD) could be a simple 'note to self' or a complex ritual.

ii. Getting into a habit of questioning reality during the day so that this might carry over into the night, and learning to spot your dreamsigns which might also help you notice you are dreaming (for a DILD)

iii. Preparing the body-mind in ways to make LDs more likely. All could help with either the Wake- or Dream Induced pathways:
>Naturally - altering sleep cycles, and/or state of mind e.g. WBTB, and or meditation etc.
>Artificially - ('Lucid Aids&#39 might include various drugs, vitamins, music, bfrainwave entrainment, crystals etc.

iv. Composite techniques like MILD - includes, affirmations, reality check, WBTB etc.


The only one that really works for me (apart from WILD) is affirmation, and this one only sometimes. (I set a very string intention to remeber to LD during the night.) Believe me - I've tried everything and anything to increase LD frequency! However I normally just notice that I'm dreaming, and I remember because I've practiced dream recall.

I don't have any dreamsigns as such (even when I'm flying I don't always notice&#33 and despite doing RCs during the day I have never done one in a normal dream, only in lucid dreams - and then only to help stabilise or increase lucidity.

So how do I DILD?
I don't really know even though I do it 2-3 times a week!!!
