Something tells me you PMed Clairity about this. But anyway, yes, a dream journal and strong recall are good places to start. But what exactally are you asking? Is it just that you're confused about SP, or something else?

Its just confusing. I've never had this hard a time explaining something.
My mind is having trouble understanding the difference between the actual process of entering meditation(awake and aware) and a LD(consciously asleep).
I've always meditated to meditate. Not to fall asleep. When I meditate, I keep myself from falling asleep. I have to....or else I just pass out b/c I'm so relaxed.
The thing with Lucid Dreaming is, you have to fall asleep. The relaxation techniques are the same for meditation and LD'ing, the initiation techniques are different. In Lucid Dreaming, once you've completed your relaxation techniques, what initiates(typically) the LD is something like WILDing. In meditation, you just simply continue focusing and doing what you did before, getting more and more relaxed and further unidentified. While meditating you don't fall asleep, but while WILDing you do.
That's why I'm in a pickle here. Its like my entire life I've been going through my relaxation techniques/meditation with the goal of remaining awake. It's what I'm accustomed to do. Now all of the sudden, BAM!! A whole new reality enters(lucid dreaming), and no longer what I know applies. Now I have to not only get the WILDing technique down, but also relearn how to do the relaxation techniques with the goal of falling into sleep.
Does that help you understand where I'm coming from? I don't think I've ever conciously gone through the transition from waking to dream world.

Hmm, probably the only thing you would need to do is change your goal of staying awake to falling asleep. It may depend on when you meditate and how. Are you usually in a sleeping postion, or do you sit up? Do you meditate during the day or night?

I meditate both day and night. I only really have to worry at night time(thats when im tired), I can't allow myself to fall asleep.....or else the meditation doesn't take place. I just fall asleep. I learned that the hard way. Get through my relaxation technique, so relaxed, no tension, feels so comfy...then BOOM! snoozing ZzzZzz's, out like a lamp heh. I just have to remain focused and aware(especially of my body), that usually keeps me up

Hmm...interesting.
Really, you could perform a WILD if you wanted. All you would need to do is stay aware of your body, like you said, and the stages you go though as you progress into the conscious sleep state. If you are having trouble staying awake, you could drink something with caffeine in it. But it's best that you sleep 5-6 hours before attempting a WILD. You would also have to experiment with how much sleep you get and how much of something you use to help you stay awake, because it's different for everyone.
I've been in the process of attempting a WILD all this week. I find that if I go to bed at 10:00, I'll be able to wake up a 3:00 in the morning to try it. I also find that I need to get out of bed, do something, and go back to bed for my mind to be sufficiently awake enough to do a WILD. If I stay in bed, I just fall back to sleep.

Yeah sure whatever you like, trev, trevi, d trev, d trevi, I've heard it all =P. Well man today I laid down to take a nap but it turned into a "session". I did my blue relaxation tech, started using adams WILDing tech imagining i was sinking in my bed and my mental screen was getting farther from me. Really odd sensations. Honestly, I was just practicing, thinking hey why not just do it for practice. Your not really supposed to Wild until after 3-6 hours of sleep. But yea I got to stages of SP, but i couldn't ever make the leap from weird SP sensations to actual lucid dream =P, i need to BTB for 5 hours of sleep or so and I should be good to go![]()

Hi I have the same problem as you, I don't have as much experience tho, but I also find the bridge between awake and sleep to be so suddenly when I try to WILD, when my thoughts only drift of for a moment I can suddenly lose consciousness.. I think crossing this bridge might be easier by imaging you have a second dream body, this way it is logical for your mind to be both asleep in bed, and conscious awake in another world
