Reply With Quotethe thing is, it is actually working. Because you ARE remembering to do the RC when you look at the time. You're just not doing it all the time. Just keep trying and you will notice that you remember more frequently.

I can't do reality checks
I just forget to do them. I've been trying for over a month now. So far I haven't managed to remain consistent with them, or really even improve at all.
Some days I completely forget to do them. Some days, I go through most the day, 3pm rocks around, and I think, "Whoa... I should have been doing reality checks."
Any things where I've been trying to get into the habit of doing checks with (checking the time, turning on lights, etc) no matter how hard I try, I can't get in the habit of doing it automatically. I'll have gone over a few days, then I'll look at the time and all of a sudden I think, "Oh, I've meant to have done reality checks each time I looked at this..."
And so on.
I haven't done any at all over the last few days.
I really need advice here.

Try wearing a watch that beeps on the hour. Every beep, stop what you're doing and perform a reality check!

There are easy ways to figure that out. First off, don't fall asleep until your body falls asleep, 2ndly, wish for a dessert to appear out of midair, & 3rd, if it does look like real time, look at your bed & yourself. If you are wearing a white robe & have a duplicate asleep in your bed, then you'll know that you are definitely dreaming!!

I think that the alarm on the watches is the best way to go. When I first started I did that, and posted sticky notes all over my house. So every time I would open my door, or take a shower, or microwave a burrito, I would remember to question my surroundings, and flip the light switch, look a digital clock near by, and watch my hands to see if they were melting. Eventually I just got into the habit of doing these RC's without the stickys, (usually takes about 21 days.)

personally I think that reality checks only work if you actually honestly question your reality (like see somthing at all strange and think to yourself, "my God, could this be a dream") apon thinking this do like 3 different reality checks to question your reality. I mean really question reality.
Also try doing this very often like 1 hr before bedtime untill going to bed.~I wake up a little more every time I dream.
