If it's there ur awake, if not...

Here's something I like to do. For every room find something that will always be there no matter what. Usually I use the fan/light fixture because they usually don't show up in dreams. But you can also use, for example in your room, your favorite _____ - preferably a piece of furniture. And whenever you're in a room, make sure the things that are always there are there. Kitchen - stove/oven, sink, refrigerator all there? Laundry room - Washer and Dryer both there? If you get this idea then go for the small things that should be in every room. Where's the light switch, plug-ins. Are there 4 walls, ceiling and a floor (either carpet or wood).

For a more detailed "is it there" Reality check. Go for marks on the wall, imperfections. A stain on a shirt or some sort of mark that won't go away - make sure it's there the next time and everytime you see it.

I also like to place things someplace and make sure it's there when I get back. Whether it's noticing a design on the door handle of a restaurant I enter and make sure it's there and the same when I leave. But I might leave a penny, button, whatever hidden or in plain sight and make sure it's there the next time or every time.

"What if I were to tell u that you can take control...of all of this? Look at all these people. Seems as though they're just all chatting away? Nothing to do with u. And yet., maybe they're only here because u wanted them to. U are their god. U can make them obey u or even destroy u."

A simpler thing made me Lucid last night while I didn't even try to attain lucidity.

I have 2 lamps on each side of my bed. I got an eerie feeling in the night so I sat up and tried to switch on one of the lights; It didn't work. I wasn't FULLY convinced yet as it could also have been a nighttime power-out so I jumped off of my bed to check out Gravity and there was much less gravity causing me to jump way far and hoover down to the floor slowly. Conclusion: I am dreaming.

Very easy RC. All I have to do to incubate it into my dreams more often is to try and switch on one of those lights every now and then when I'm trying to fall asleep or have just woken up in bed.

Yeah, it's really wierd how lights and light switches don't work in dreams.
That's actually how I become lucid by fluke lots of the time.

Sometimes the lights just spark or flicker on then off for me.

But I don't get why it doesn't work.
I mean, we're expecting the lights to turn on, and obviously believing that it's going to happen.
      Why doesn't it?

when i think about it, i don't have dreams where im in my house. its usually someone elses. maybe becuase i don't like to be at home much. either that or my brain is trying to make it harder for me to become lucid

the principle will still work though. if you get into the habit of finding something everywhere you go, then it should cross over into your dreamscapes right?
