I talked to my doctor yesterday and I got some melontonin to help me with my sleeping. I dont know if there are different kinds of this stuff but Im getting some...I wanted to ask how it helps with lucid dreaming.

Umm... melatonin is over-the-counter in the US, you don't need a prescription from a physician.

Melatonin is the hormone that your body naturally produces in the brain's pineal gland to regulate your sleep/wake cycle. Your body naturally produces about 100mcg (MICROgrams, 1000mcg = 1mg), or 0.1mg per night. Thus, don't take more than 100-300mcg (0.1-0.3mg) at a time. Take 20 minutes before going to bed.

I agree with shaftmonkey about the after-effects of melatonin, especially if you take a stronger dose. There have been times that I go into work after taking melatonin and can't seem to get my brain to wake up for a few hours.

Also, sometimes I find that I have ZERO dream recall the day after taking it. So I only use it when I really can't get to sleep. Good luck with it though, hopefully it works well for you. I'm pretty sure you'll find it gets you to sleep quickly.

Yep and I've had this weird dream...I can recall it but to make it short it had to do with zombies that looked kinda like vampires and they could do this flying thing and it turned out to be some kind of game of zombies vs. humans...it was really fun

That what worked best for me when I was taking it slayer, to take it about an hour before going to bed, as it seemed to take that long for the pill to kick in.

I bought mine at Walmart in a 3mg size, and started taking 1 each night, which seemed to increase the vividness of my dreams.

I then started taking 2 of them (6mg) each night before going to bed, and my dreams became even more vivid.

It was when I tried taking 3 of them (9mg) that I had a problem, because I not only had a difficult time remembering my dreams, but I slept so deep, that I almost overslept and missed making it to work on time.

So, it is probably best to start with a small dose.
