Sorry. I am not WILDING {just WBTB and WILD}
Hello people. Could you please help me clarify this?
I dont use dreamsingns to get lucid, i somehow know, that i am lucid.
Well of course I use some kind of dream signs, but i never intentionaly do reality checks. It feels as if the energy of the dream somehow rises and i instantly know I am lucid.
Hmm. I think, we are dealing with "dream energy" {as named by Something Else}, which is used to enter the dream, to reamain lucid and which is charged while performing techniques and preparations and discharged while In dream overtime. {or rapidly when we are too excited}

I never recognize dreamsigns either. When I'm lucid, I know I'm lucid. When I'm not, there could be a parade of dreamsigns walking by and I won't notice it. Only once have I been in a dream, and spontaneously thought, "Hey, I should do an RC," and then got lucid from that.
Usually, I'll just be minding my own business, then suddenly, Hey, I'm dreaming! I think it has to do with our state of mind. Like when you're in the upper theta range, you'll get lucid no matter what. Maybe that's just another way of referring to your "dream energy."
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

seems you are a natural at it, just like i am. i don't require anything either i just know. i just never become lucid because my dreams are almost to weird for even me.
i should actually try being lucid, i already have total control over my dreams at all times anyway, so i could change or do anything i wanted whenever i want to.
Dont know if i am natural. I always refered to naturality as to having lucid dreams spontaneusly. But i have to induce it somehow. I have to add some energy into it, so I get lucid. The difference is, that i dont have to recognize dreamsigns when lucidity comes. So... It seems i am not natural, but i can enter the state of dreams naturally.

I know what you mean, adraw. Even with trying to do a lot of RC's with dream-signs, it seems that usually I just beome aware that I am dreaming like that too, then I do an RC just for fun or to confirm.
I think it has to do with that obssession I was talking about in the other thread; when dreaming is on your mind a lot, it will naturally occur to you sometimes when you are actually dremaing, too.
I rarely recognize dream signs, I always just realize that it's a dream. Usually it starts as "If I were dreaming right now I'd... oh wait"
Have you had a couple LD's before you've had the spontaneous ones?
It might be that you're particularily adept now at noting the feeling of a dream, how it's different from reality. You know, when you're in a dream, even if it's incredibly realistic there that slight sense in the back of your mind that you know it's not real.
There was a topic earlier about a few people who no longer did RC's, they could tell that they were in a dream, now lucid, because it did not feel like reality does.
Yeah thats it. Exactly like that
I newer think this way in a dream. Usually. I start my internal dialogue after i realize its a dream. So no thinking. Just realisation in my experience. But it seems that we are different. Would be interested if reality checks work for both types of personalities.
Feeling of a dream. Yeah. Could be expressed that way. I was wondering if doing reality checks helps. Are the reality checks really used what they should be used for? {in case of personalities like me?}. Is there anyone who uses them on regular basis to "wake up" in a dream? Or do we use them just as a prove? {Just like Moonbeam expressed}.
Hmm. I can think only about one think. Reality checks make you obsessed with dream reality {thx Moonbeam} and thus invoking dream saturated mind, which somehow automatically wakes you up, becouse you wished so much. I was just wondering.
Maybe reality checks are not for everyone. Maybe...

Do you think about dreaming or lucid dreaming a lot during the day? Right before falling asleep? It really has to do with how much you expose your subconscious to stuff, dreamsigns are a way of doing that, but definately not the only one.
Being on this forum must help a lot, it means you are actively thinking about LDs every time you log on.

It's the same with me, it's almost never something in the dream that tips me off to the fact that it is a dream. It's just the feeling of being in a dream; it's very distinct.
In fact I can remember my first lucid dream from when I was in elementary school and I did use a sign to prove to myself (and the friend that I was arguing with) that it was a dream, but I knew before that. I couldn't say for sure that I know how I knew since it was so long ago, but I'd guess that it was the feeling of it that tipped me off then too.
I do the same thing, it seems as if exactly when I gain consciousness in my dream that i just can sense that I am in one. I usually just jump up and fly to where I want to be when that happens because i'll just be zapped to some random place i've never seen or thought of before, to my knowledge. Maybe some symbolic thing for me. I've also had maybe 2 or 3 deja vu LD's when I was younger.
Dream signs. Tools of inducing lucidity. Described as a way to aid us into lucid dream state.
But arent they only the tools to move our focus from reality into dream state? Lets assume we dont use reality checks during the day. What if we just thought about dream state during the day. What is more effective in your opinion? {reality checks or thinking about dream reality}

sometime's if the brain is so entreaged bye lucid dreaming, then you often think of it during the day, thus appearing in your dreams. I do it all the time, ill be doing something completely normal. And ill suddenly think, Hold on. Im dreaming![]()
It's easy to feel alone.
I think you're right.
I think that the reason so many people have trouble achieving lucid dreams is because of the "hype" around it. There are so many misconceptions about lucid dreaming - why should we need to use dream signs anyway? The only reason we need to use a tool is because we don't know what the real problem is.
If we want to achieve the same state of mind during our dreams as during the day, perhaps we should try to change the state of mind during the day to something more compatable.
Usually I get into lucid dreams by the sudden realization that I'm dreaming, too. It's less of a "I'm dreaming" than the way I see and feel my environment changes.
Lately, I have been less consumed with lucid dreaming and more concerned with my awareness. I am really starting to see the live world more like a dream world. Everything seems more beautiful and even more real, more spacious, deeper.
Awareness is sort of one of those fragile things - you really don't know how to describe it until you get it, and you think you have it, even when you don't.
This morning, I had two lucid dreams. (A new record for me.) Both were achieved in this same way. I think it's no coincidence.
Maybe soon I will write some essay about the correspondence of dream and awake states.. I've been meaning to think more about that.![]()

back when i was younger and i used to do lucid dreams, i would just sudden know i was dreaming. It was weird, somehow i just kinda noticed.
I don't use dream signs either, and only sometimes I actually do RC's to make sure I am lucid. Yeah though, I found myself in my last lucid not even bothering with an RC, hard to tell if I was even lucid in the first place... But I did what I wanted. xD
well dreamsigns must be important otherwise people wouldnt metion them in the first place but my excuse for not using dreamsigns is my journal isnt big enough yet but hey i've had 5 LD since i started and that was a little more than 2 months ago for me anyway thats pretty decent.
