You could repeat to yourself over and over "I am dreaming, I am dreaming, I am dreaming." That could keep you focused enough to try some other stability techniques.

I am currently deployed to iraq and I havent had any lucid dreams in awhile, but finally after reading about them again , they have started up.
As always becoming lucid for me is looking at my hands. I always have like 8 fingers on one hand and they bend in all different directions.
When I see this I always laugh at myself and say..."Yep, dreaming... time to get my lucid on!"
Well... when I spin, I lose my dream. When I rub my hands, I lose my dream. When I bend down and touch grass, or touch anything I lose my dream... I cant ever remember to touch the top of my mouth...so I am running out of ideas...
I need to learn how to calm down, I suppose.
Any other ideas?
