Hmmm...sounds good!
I have never tried it before, but i will tonight.
Hope it works for me.I like the idea and it makes some sense!
I will post the results later.![]()
This is a very simple method for inducing a lucid dream and remembering a task you want to do in a lucid dream. This is a self suggestion method, however the verbal self suggestion method never worked for me! As simple as it is. If you have had no luck using a verbal self suggestion for a lucid dream, try out this method! Apologies if someone else has posted something like this
Get ready for sleep, but before you do, grab a notebook and pen. Sit down on your bed and write over and over again two simple sentances. The first should be a given, "I will remember that I am dreaming." The second sentance is what you want to do in a dream. Just one sentance. Be specific! If its one of the monthly lucid tasks here and it has several steps, call it by its name. Don't write down the steps for the task. Simply write "Advanced Lucid Task" or "Dreamviews Task" ect. Think about for a moment what those words mean. KNOW what they stand for.
Write down sentance 1 and 2 at least three times. And really read it as you write it, and say it softly to yourself.
Go to sleepDont worry if you have to stand up to turn off the light. You dont have to think about what you wrote. You can forget it, let your thoughts wander or try a different technique.
I've had mostly hits with this technique. My misses were when I didn't keep it simple and wrote a whole paragraph about what I wanted to do. My other miss was when I gave myself a task I didn't even want to do. Even when I wrote it I was telling myself "Meh..I dont want to do this". If you dont really want to do the task you have given yourself, you won't do it. Well at least in my experience, your subconscious will just pretend you never wrote anything. And my last miss was when I didnt even fall asleep for that night.........
So make sure whatever the task is, its something you do want to do that night. I lay down in my bed and ask myself what do I feel like doing in a dream tonight. Swimming with sharks? Transforming? The lucid task? Whatever it is I feel like doing that night, thats what I write.
In my experience this written method only kicks in during the last major dream of the night! And only the last one. Why I don't know. It kicks in during the middle of the dream too. I just suddenly become aware I am dreaming, for no good reason at all. And I instantly remember what it is I want to do. And there you have it!

This is not the best method for extreme lucidity or extreme dream control. But it is a very simple method and a good way to try out something new in a dream.
Please post here if you have tried it and let me know your results!

I hope it works for you @_@ I've been trying to get my friend to test it out for me to see if it works for her. She hasn't yet. But she does whatever she wants in lucid dreams so often..............so apologies if this ends up working for no one!
Does sound good.
I had bought all of these writing tablets, for when I was learning Chinese Caligraphy, and now I will have a purpose for those that remain 'unsinocized'. There, I just tossed one over to the sofa... where I've been doing nearly all of my sleeping. Oh, and a pen...
......
There I did it once for practice. I found one of my old Caligraphy Pens.
By the Third Pass the styling, flow and composition were fairly decent.
Hm, I was going to just skip trying to get a lucid dream tonight because I haven't been successful for the past week, but this seems too simple not to try. I'll let you know the results tomorrow.![]()

I'll try too. Results later.
Yes, I've found this sort of thing works well, made a thread about it here

I tried it last night. I think my mind may have read it wrong because even though I didn't have a lucid dream I rememberd two of my dreams. And one of them was really long. Remembering two dreams is really good for me though. I'm going to keep trying it.
I tried a similar thing before but it didn't work for me. Wrote a page of self-suggestion phrases WBTB. I think its a good technique and will work for some people. Keep us posted with your results.
It's a good idea. There's plenty of similar posts on this kind of thing (though the specifics vary), and every time I read one I think, "what a great idea, I will do this", and I never do it :cr:. Hopefully this time I'll remember to try it though.

Definatly sounds like it's worth trying. If I don't forget tonight, I will try it. I know what I want to do although I'm not sure I should say it here!
Post more of your results guys! I'd like to hear how this tech works for you and juroara probably want to, too!
Thanks juroara for the tech. I hope it works for me as much as it did for you.
Ill toally try this tonight, I might be able to get my friend to try it also.
It didn't work for me either, but I will give it a few more tries to see if it just needs more time.

Two nights, not working yet. Course neither is anything else right now. I'll keep trying, not a very odious thing to do.

I'll try it too - I'll post the outcome later![]()
Tried it last night, didn't work. I did a slight variation: "if this is happening, I'll remember I'm dreaming," I tried I'll be at school, which did happen, but still no lucid.

Tried twice, failed the first time. However, last night, the second try, I did only this technique and had two short LDs. Don't think it's very significant, but I'll keep trying and see if it produces results.
I tried this right before bed and had no luck. I don't think I clearly enforced my intentions

I wrote "stop traffic" like 30 times but it didn't work. I know you said not to do that but I got carried away.
Three nights, and no luck yet. The night before I tried this technique I did have an LD but my dog woke me up shortly into it.

Such sorrowful results! o_o!!
Sounds like a good idea tho.
Well, I'll give it a try tonight also and report back in the morning. ^^

As long as you still really concentrate on it, I would bet it would work even better, but you'd really have to enforce your intentions, and doing that while writitng 2 sentences 30 times is difficult. It's the quality v. quantitiy thing again. If you do something poorly 300 times, or you do something well 20 times, there is a good chance that the 20 times well will produce significantly better results, at least when it comes to Lucid Dreaming. Basically, you probably did a lot, and by the tenth it probably got automatic, at which point you stop really thinking about it, causing it to become innefective.Originally posted by Moonbeam

P.S. I still haven't tried this technique, so I really can't say how effective it is for me.

You should try it; we need data points for the study!Originally posted by PenguinLord13

(I tried to concentrate as I wrote it. I think I'll try again tonight. Can't hurt.)
Note to self: Remember to get rid of piece of paper by bed that says "Raise the Dead."
