Yes being on my back is very important for attaining any kinds of lucidity for some reason, even though its not the most comfortable way to get to sleep. Sorry I cant say why, Ive never found out myself.
A few months back I injured my leg and was forced to sleep on my back, my number of regular LDs practically tripled, though when it got better I found myself turning onto my side without realising it.

. I usually day dream a lot when I sleep (or almost sleep) sitting, but I've never thought of using it to help induce LDs...That's a good idea! Gotta go try it now.
