I tried 3 times last night and failed WBTB. I couldnt stay focused the first time. the other two just didnt work. I was repating to myself I would know I was dreaming, I was thinking of a very vivid dream scene and I dont even remember a normal dream after that.

Don't be discouraged. I've had so many times when I almost gave up and then suddenly bam I'd have a LD. Eventually I made a rule with myself to never let myself feel discouraged again. I still miss dream signs, I still have failed WILDs but now I just laugh at and learn from them.
Just keep at it. Keep doing RCs, keep recalling and recording your dreams, and keep analysing yourself and trying different things. Try stimulating your brain with some logic puzzles during your WBTB. I find that really helps but the WBTB must be done after at least 5 hours sleep. I also find the CAT method very successful.
It will all be worth it when you have your next LD!![]()
yeah I always make sure Ive had enough sleep before I try. Ill try the puzzles too thanks for the tip. My recall has went from at least 2-3 dreams a night to almost nothing, just bits of a dream the last few nights...

Make sure you wear a sleep mask. That makes a huge difference to dream recall.
Three WBTB attempts in one night are two too many. That will most likely mess with your sleep cycle, and dream recall. Cut it down to one.
Lucid dreaming takes practice. Keep it up, persevere. Continue trying for at least two weeks before you complain again.

I have a hard time staying focused while attemptimg to WILD. either cant stop thinking of just random things or have to shift my body no matter how hard I try not to. I have tried a few different techniques to WILD I have found on DVs .

Yeah I try to practice WILDing still so I can eventually stay focused. I usually wake up during the night after a while anyways so I try to WBTB. its usually around 4-5 am so its good time for me to try .

When you wake up at 4.00 in the morning, try this:
Try recalling ANY bits of a dream you just had (or had during the night, or even a night before), and when you decide to go back to sleep: concentrate on that dream-bit you had and imagine that you found out that it was a dream.
I picture myself going through a recent dream scenario and thinking "How did I get here..what's this..that can't be right.. I must be dreaming! (I'm think there's a name for this, I think I read it somewhere...) .
Like this my brain is still in the "dream mode" but I'm also thinking logically.
Just repeat the thing in your head, don't attempt to WILD. Lucidity then for me happenens during the rest of the night, (DILDs).

I will try the MILD tonight. I had a false awakening last night first one that Ive had that I have been able to recall. It wasnt a LD but my recall of it was good, FA is pretty strange.
