any suggestions?

what do you thing is better? using auto suggestion while falling asleep like saying the mantra until your asleep or saying the mantra 4-5 times before you sleep?

I personally do it until I fall asleep, the one time I did it all the way I did have a LD but I kinda just knew I was dreaming half way through the dream, I dont know if it was just a DILD or the auto-suggestion.![]()

Many mantras are subjective and not true to their tones.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

ya, i had the same thing happen to me last night. i mean, ur in bed anyway, its not like ur sacrificing any sleep, so why not do some auto suggestion? it helps me. my first time i did auto suggestion, my friend in my dream was making fun of me, repeating what i was saying as autosuggestino (I will realize i am dream...) although i never became lucid, which sucks

I think saying it until you fall asleep works the best for me. I mean just saying it a few times may work, but I dont see how saying it even more would make it work any less. All it could do is help. however, i find that just kind of going through what I would do if I was in a lucid dream and slipping in something like "i will know that i am dreaming" once in a while works better. I can actually focus on that sort of thing better

To answer your question. In my experience auto suggesion works best if I repeat it for a few minutes while I fall asleep, but stop once the random thought and image stage of my falling asleep begins. Because if I try to keep at it I'll just end up not being able to fall asleep. I doubt that saying it "4 or 5 times" would do much, or would take forever to have any effect.

I can't help but comment that you should try CSATILD, which I made up. I don't want to go around telling everybody to use my method, but it's really relevant to the topic!!

In the morning I try to remember the dream I had in which I was a member. The plot was twisted and topsy-turvy, I was a pirate, and I had scurvy. Then I reached up and plugged my nose and that was when I began to suppose I was dreaming, I was, all right. And it was really the middle of the night!
