Way to go!Out of curiosity, when did you wake up in the morning?

I have recently tried to WILD in the afternoon, the thought of being able to have a lucid dream at night and in the day sounded brilliant.
I went up to my bed at around 12:30 after i had lunch, i closed my door and window to stop sounds distracting me, after 10 minutes of deep breathing i started to tingle a little and i lost orientation of where my arms where.
For example i could not be sure if my hand was under my pillow or on my side, about another 10 minutes later i was very relaxed, i let my mind drift away from counting breathes for a little while because its helps relax even more.
Then all of a sudden my entire body tingles wildy and felt like a hot flush all over, the imagery started and i imagined myself walking around my garden, i started to feel the grass on my feet, my heart started to pound so i took deep breathes to calm down,i could see my garden forming before my eyes.
At this point i knew i was in a dream because i felt a sudden change, i slowly opened my eyes and i was standing in my garden.
The first thing i do is to increase the stability by rubbing my hands or picking up a dream object and studying it closely, i headed towards a door which leads into a alley and managed to drive a black mustang for a few seconds before i was awake in my bed again....

this amazes me I wish I could do thatDo you try it the normal way you go to sleep or are you on your back? well done!

Between 12-1 in the afternoon the mind is naturally tired and there is a REM period, i lay on my side and just count breathes untill i enter a dream.
I'm also naturally tired around the same time, but I'll be out of my REM cycle by then. I've tried. That's why I wondered for how long you had been awake.I guess it might be individual when the sleep cycle restarts.

Sometimes i have no idea how long i have been laying there, but sometimes i just fall asleep and awake 2 hours later.
Dreamhope11, you went back to bed at 12:30 pm.. what time had you gotten out of bed that morning to start your day? How much time had passed since you originally got up and then went back for a nap?
I'd love to be able to WILD in the afternoon!![]()
Very nice, grats. I also managed to have a lucid about 20 minutes ago.. Just woke back up (Love days off). Usually I am not very successful during the day due to the fact that once im awake its hard to go back to bed. For whatever reason it decided to work today though, I didn't have the best sleep last night so I could attribute it to a minor rebound.
Dissociation with body limbs is usually one of the first thing to go for me as well.. at first it usually feels like they are still laying flat/horizontal (sometimes feel the bed) but floating above my body a couple feet if that makes any sense.. Followed by pretty much exactly what you described. The sensation of not knowing where your limbs are is a fabulous one.
Unfortunately my dogs decided to bark at the mailman and well.. here we are. It was one of those really random dreams where there was a great plot yet I had a high level of lucidity to, always enjoyable. Stealing bikes from under a fire hydrant outside the house with a celebrity cook off going on top the roof. Dont forget the dancing lawn chairs. Im sure this was all leading up to an explosion of entertainment
Clarity some general guidelines I go by if you want to get used to a wild in the afternoon.. Get up an hour or two before you normally would on a day off and just stay awake at least a few hours passed your regular waking time. (Aka I normally wake up at 7, so maybe I will get up at 5:30-6 that day.. stay awake till 11ish and then lay back down.) I dont know if there is a magical number but I sort of treat it like a reverse WBTB. You really could do it whenever but by keeping on schedule (Not sleeping in till noon; no chance to fall asleep successfully later) you pretty much will need the nap later on; which should be bursting with REM. Its just a matter of finding the "sweet spot" time wise, I think your body knows better then you or I do so just go by feel the first few tries and go from there. Think of how you first learned to wild at night, do that backwards.
Personally I almost always have a good, vivid dream (Not always lucid) while napping; no matter the time. Its most defiantly possible but I just think its difficult because most people attempt these on a day off obviously; which means they have probably slept in and "overshot" their ideal sleep cycle especially when you are trying to narrow it down to a single REM phase for a later nap. Not to mention that almost everyone has 50 things to do on their days off so there's to many things going on in your mind to concentrate - or fall asleep. If you do manage to fall asleep you should be golden though. The few times I have done it and considered it successful they whole process was very accelerated.

Clarity i wake up at 8am in the morning, i do my usual stuff around the house and after i have had a bit of lunch i head off to my bed and start to relax, and its pretty much ends up from there.

My LD's/WILD's are most sucsessful in the afternoon as well.

I do this a lot but I never thought that there might be a certain timing for success. I'm successful about 50% of the time when I nap. I think I'll start keeping track of my schedule and when I'm successful to see if there's any correlation.
I tried WILDing this afternoon and I think I got close.
While I was laying down, I did what you did and breathed deeply. Maybe after about 20 minutes I got some tingling and minor numbness, but it seemed like it was only in my hands (i was on my back with my hands folded) and that I could have shaken it off too easily if I wanted to. At points I started to feel like those times I woke up with SP, but only in my fingers and hands.I also felt like my whole body "wobbling" or something (I hope you understand what I mean.)
I started to feel some kind of rush or excitement and my heart rate increased, but I don't know if this was because I was excited or what. Also I had some sexual arousal without thinking of anything to arouse myself. It also looked like the room was getting brighter with my eyes shut and I saw green blobs. I twitched minorly at times. It almost felt I had control over it and that I was making it more intense by telling myself to aggrandize it.
But, I did not move into the dream state. I still don't know what happened, but somewhere along the line I was like "F it, this is taking too long" and took my glasses off and took a normal nap. I don't remember if by the time before I quit I was still feeling anything.
Was this the beginning state of sleep or was I imagining things? Part of what made me doubt whether i got close is because I can't really say it just "happened" like some do: I kind of experienced everything gradually. Did I almost do it and should I give it another shot tomorrow?
(you will have an LD tonight)

Keep trying! I know what you mean when you say your body wobbles because it happens to me aswell, when your mind says F-it, do not move because its your mind testing to see whether your actually asleep. I get bursts of excitment aswell, just don't think about it and it will go away. It may take a long time and alot of practice but it is worth it.
Wow I so underrstand you mini!
I was so close, I felt my feet mooving like a flame, and felt some on is sitting on me, even my heart was beating so HARD! But I got to that point when nothing happens, and my mind says:"move to your side move to your side muhahaha!"(Without the muahaha but he's very evil!), and I said"no I won't!.......oh...Okay!".
How much do I need to wait? and in the night it's faster?
Achievements:

i just tried WILDING right now. its two oclock for me and it didnt work but i got into sleep paralysis

I think the main thing is that you need to still be in REM. If you have slept for around 6-8 hours the night before than your body should still be in REM mode for several hours. If you take a nap three or four hours later its almost like doing a WBTB just a bit later
