First LD in a long time

It was as if practicing WILD would never pay off. When I called it a night after trying one last technique of repeating to myself "I'm dreaming" before falling asleep, I remember waking up in my parent's bedroom thinking of the words. I was in fact dreaming! Then I remember setting goals of what I wanted to do when I became lucid.

The first one was exploration. The first thing I did was I touched the wall to see if it felt real. It did! Then I attempted to fly but instead I managed to turn the gravity down and I was nearly weightless! Of course flying around in such a small space probably would've been difficult. Then I tried turning on the lights, I expected them not to work. On the contrary they did, yet I still knew I was dreaming. I noticed I was home alone so I walked out of the house.

Outside, there were DC's scattered about talking and walking like they would in real life. I saw a fairly attractive woman and decided to follow her. I tapped her on the shoulder and she transformed into an old lady! Perhaps this was bad sign.

Well I stopped following her and decided to go home and try to use the phone. Before leaving the streets though, I did a reality check. I took a short glance at my left hand. When I looked away I thought "wait a minute". It was no doubt that I had an extra finger when I looked the first time. Rather than walking home, I decided to hover in an "invisible car" like I had done in my non-lucid dreams. Though I was only able get my buttocks off the ground with my heels grinding the pavement, I was traveling fairly fast.

When I got home, I noticed the door had changed, it was smaller and vines were covering it. I got to the phone and dialed a random number when suddenly I saw my history teacher telling me to hold a call for him. I thought "sure" and then "wait a minute you're just a DC!" After this point I remember losing lucidity after seeing an old lady at a lemonade stand garbling words. Then I woke up at about four in the morning, did a reality check and realized I was awake. I tried going back to sleep but I was too excited, at least for another hour or so.

So I'm not exactly sure if I completed a successful WILD or not. But because I didn't feel a significant sensation before becoming lucid, my answer is no. But who cares! I finally had an LD after nearly a year!

That's really exciting! I hope you get the technique down pat! Funny how you lost lucidity right after you realized you were talking to a DC, I would think it's opposite.
