Thread: First Post - Lucid Experience

First post - first (semi-intentional) lucid - Please read even though its long and give me some feedback! THANKS!

Hi. This is my first post. My name is "GoobCow" and I really enjoy this site. Lots of fun!

So I've been aware of Lucid Dreaming for a very long time. I became interested in it when I had my first many years ago, but this interest has always been passive (I never really went out of my way to try and have a lucid dream). I came across this website a month ago or so.

What really intrigued me were the posts on Sleep Paralysis. A few months ago I remember waking up on the couch which I had fallen asleep on, staring across the room, hearing a LOUD humming rumbling, and not being able to move (and panicing!). Then I fell back asleep and woke up to the same experience only to finally come out of it. It was scary, but not too much as it was the middle of the day and not dark (and i felt no evil presence (thank god) like other people have felt).

Anyways, I started reading about lucidity again on this website. I also want to mentioned that I had previously heard of reality checks (from the minor research I mentioned way before finding this site) and saw the same techniques on this site. The closest thing ive done is trying to induce sleep paralysis but have never even come close. (It helps that I know what SP feels like having been through it in the past).

Fast forward to this morning. I'm having a WONDERFUL dream. I'm walking down some street and apparently I'm with a bunch of fans of my favorite music group, the White Stripes. Anyways, I'm also carying my guitar with me and as we're all walking (people I've never met before) I start playing guitar and everyones singing my favorite songs. Its GREAT, its such a nice day too. I know deep down that I'm trying to get to my car...

And finally I get to it, and it is a RED Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, the exact same truck my brother got a few weeks ago, but now its mine, and instead of being BLACK like his is, its RED.(I dont own a car OR truck in RL) So, as you know in the dream world, I automatically somehow KNOW that this is my truck, and im relieved to see it. I start running towards it and for some reason I look at the grass. Something weird happens. I think to myself, "wow, this grass is vivid"... then i think "why wouldnt it be vivid, everything should be vivid if im awake... maybe im dreaming"... and out of nowhere i do something ive never done EVER in RL or in a dream "hmm let me do a reality check... can i put my finger through my hand"... and guess what, I DID! My finger went RIGHT through my hand and it felt soooo cool. So wow, Okay, I'm lucid now, supposed to be great, right?

Well, right when i realize im lucid, out of nowhere my brother tackles me to try and hold me down. So I try to pull myself up but I can't. Then I try to convince myself that i have spider slingers... almost like spiderman in my wrists (Weird, I know... I'm too old to dream that I'm Spiderman ), but instead only two, foot-long brown rubbery things with a ball at the end come out of my hand and they dont help me pull myself up at all.... WEIRD I KNOW... this is all weird to me.

So what do you know, I'm waking up, and im still half a sleep and I feel... VIBRATIONS... yes! i think, i can go back into the dream world... Instead I get an FA... so NOW I am in my bed and get up and I walk into my living room and notice in the kitchen my Mom is cooking food.... and again i think hmm this is weird (even though the ONLY thing that stood out to me as out of the ordinary was that my Mom was wearing a black apron, and she doesnt own one... which seems weird that I would be aware of that ) and AGAIN i tried to put my finger through my hand and again I succeed so... BANG -> LUCID.... So i start running up and down the halls of my house trying to fly out of excitedness but no good. Then i notice again that my Mom is cooking. So I figure hey, this is a lucid dream, I can do whatever, So i Drop kick her (who knows, i probably shouldnt drop kick my own mom, hehe) and she just turns around and says oww, why did you do that? kind of non-chalantly, and I wake up.

And this experience, especially me walking down the street singing my favorite songs out loud for no reason with random people, made me smile all day today and i cant wait for another experience like it... maybe tomorrow morning...

Oh, and ive been trying to put my finger through my hand all day today!!!!

Good luciding... and some feedback on my first experience would be great!
