Good job!
Though, I don't support giving up on WILDs... But if it worked, who cares, right!

Technically this is my 3rd wild but this time more down to design than luck.
No booze or supplements involved either.
Woke after a DILD at about 6.15am. WBTB filled in journal.
6.30 to 7.30 tried to WILD. Progressed quite far. I became less and less aware of my body and more aware of my head space. For once I managed to "passively" watch the little dream snippets. Eventually though I kind gave up and rolled over to snuggle with my wife.
Next thing I know I feel the SP wave slip over me. I feel my body moving and I imagine I'm spinning round and round in my bed. I stand up and I'm in my bed room. My wife is asleep in the bed. I still not 100% sure its worked so I wander through to the lounge so as not to wake her. Its very like my lounge but with small differences (shelves where a cupboard should be, my TV is where the radiator should be etc). Im WILDING!![]()

Bollocks.
I remember my first WILD. It was awesome! The feeling of finally succeeding at something so many strive for.
Congrats!
Success comes to those who are not afraid of failing.
Not to brag.. but I taught myself to WILD before I even found this forum or knew what lucid dreaming was called hehe
The good thing about WILD is that even if you don't succeed you can just roll over and go to sleep and you're really likely to have a LD anyway, as you did!

Its true I did give up. And that definitely my intent.
But clearly I was in a certain mindset, maintaining a certain awareness, so when the SP kicked in I was still ready for it.
But most definitely the WILD efforts leading up to this point got both mind and body in the right place.
I also had a breakthrough with the HI. I was able to "passively" watch the little bodiless dream scenes, which I used to find quite jarring.
Seems to me there is transition point where I do just need to let go and fall asleep, but don't, if you know what I mean.
I don't believe for a second that my next WILD attempt will be easy or even a success. But each attempt helps fill in another piece of the puzzle.

Yeah! And again! x3
I managed two short wilds last weekend but the dreams weren't stable and didn't last long. 1st one I felt SP wave and then felt like I was dragged from my bed down stairs and into a lounge (no stairs in my flat!). 2nd time I felt SP wave and my cat jumped onto the bed so I could pet it. Except my cat died when I was a teenager!
But this weekend was much more stable. I Felt the SP wave, and started spinning really fast on the bed like a pin wheel. I heard my wife talking to me (but she didn't she was actually asleep) and other strange noises. I was trapped like this for a bit, spinning and spinning. I tried to sit up, and I felt the SP shiver I get when trying to move my "real" body. Somehow I managed to throw my self out of my body/bed. I was in my bedroom, it was dark. I wondered if it was a dream or not. I pushed my finger through the wall and knew I had succeded. So I opened a door in the wall saying "beach". Sunlight floods in and I'm high in the air looking down at islands in the sea. I throw myself out like a sky diver and aim for the doorstep of a villa/castle on a cliff. At the last second I get scared of hurting myself and splashdown in the sea. I swim for shore....
WILDS are so cool. Once you've found your mojo, they do seem to become easier. I start of with the breath in breath out im dreaming technique. Then, once I watch the HI mini dreams I remind my self I'm dreaming. And this seems to go on for a while. Ultimately the trick for me seems to be just emptying my mind once my body is suitably relaxed. This is what kicks me over into a dream.
Sorry for rabbiting on. I'm just quite excited by it all!
MILDS/DILDS are also fun though (and easier). There's also a great joy to be had when you work out you are dreaming. I always feel very pleased with myself, as If I were Columbo or something.![]()
