Thread: The healing waters

For the last few weeks, I have been suffering from a general malaise of the soul, some of you may have noticed. Some of you may not have, I am good at hiding my feelings. There has been so much going on in my private life that I’ve just grown tired.

Last night, I found myself in a public swimming pool, a very nice, Olympic size pool. There were many of the pretty people swimming around. You know the ones, interested in being seen and trying to see how much skin they could show off without being escorted to the door. I swam for a while, on top of water, under water, but it was all tiring and boring. I left after a few moments.

I found myself at home, wearing a terrycloth robe and looking out of my back door. There was a small pond in the field behind my house, probably not more than 5-10 acres in size. I decided that since it was such a nice pond that I would take a swim.

The visual imagery was nothing great, just kind of a dull overcast day, but I noticed that I had the most profound sense of touch. I could feel every little loop of thread in my robe against my skin.

I walked to the pond and dropped my robe, I had decided I would swim nude today.
The water was warm with two foot waves. There were shallows in which you could just sit and let the waves lap against you. There were deeper parts where you could just swim.

I noticed that there were other people already swimming in the pond. People of all races, ages, and sexes. Nobody was wearing any clothing, and nobody cared. It was not an erotic type of dream. It was totally innocent. Everyone was comfortable around each other and it seemed the most natural thing in the world to be swimming without any clothes.

People were splashing, and playing. I chose to go off and spend a little time by myself to reflect on things, so I headed off to the deep waters and sank to the bottom. The water felt so nice and warm. I settled on my back on the bottom and just began to relax. It’s really nice not having to breath.

How long I spent at the bottom, I do not know, but at some point, I decided to return to the surface. I was able to stay afloat without any effort, kind of like a cork does.

At one point, a friend floated by and we embraced and talked for a few moments. I don’t really recall what was said, but I remember being glad that the friend was there. My friend moved on and I was left along to just sit and enjoy the water caressing me body.

I awoke with the most profound sense of peace I have felt in a long time. This was truly a healing experience for me.
