Thread: I'm back.

I was initially pretty hardcore about obtaining lucidity when I first arrived at the forum. I had a good grouping of LDs when I was here reading a lot everyday. Then, for whatever reasons, the "hobby" was sort of let go. I was not doing my reality checks through the day anymore. I had a large gap in time where I then quit having LDs.

Well, whatever seed I planted in my mind with those previous experiences has decided to sprout again recently.

I have been having DILDs, only without reality checks needed. The dreams are so clear cut, that I instantly know I am in a dream. The last one was triggered just by a statement someone made to me and my friend. It was so abnormal that I said, "Duh, this is a dream!". I told my friend who was with me that we were in a dream. I convinced him by telling him to look around at the textures, and how you could just tell it was a dream. He began realizing that I was correct, and that we were in a dream. He took the time to look around with me.

The next group of friends in this dream I just could not convince of the same. They looked at me and thought that I was crazy. I said, "think about where you are right now and how you feel, this is not reality". One of them was holding a knife in his hand doing something, and asked if he could stab me then. I told him, "No, but if you did, there would be no consequence!". He never did end up stabbing me. Though lucid, I still didn't desire such a thing.

So those last few dreams, I focused mainly on examining the graphical properties of scenes in the dreams. No more flying and blowing things up like I used to. I stared as closely as I could at certain objects and textures, to see how they were drawn up by the mind. The last object I examined, the nylon fabric on a CD case, looked pretty damned real as I looked at it very closely.

I witnessed a few slips out of the dreams, and then saw the brain begin to redraw certain images as I slipped back into a dream state. I recall seeing one random object being drawn up quickly by the mind, and it was fascinating how it looked. The process was like an Etch-A-Sketch moving extremely fast to draw the image. I could see the data flowing in to make the shape. It seems that when I am fully engulfed in a dream, the images are resolved much faster than when I am lingering in this halfway state and seeing random things.

Well now I'm rambling. But I just wanted to share of how great it was that my LDs came back looking for me.
