Thread: Into the darkness

The most frustrating thing that happens to me is i get a really good handle on an image, just begin to work with it, and then i find i have to move!!
As in, i'll get cramp, or be uncomfortable. And then i have to reposition, and i can't get the former image back!!
Well done though!!

I can usually get a good view on the image but ONCE i view it I take this Huge Quick breath. I think its me coming back to full cons. I hate it.

damn...i tried to WILD this afternoon, against my better judgement. i was tired, and i just knew i would fall asleep, but i thought i'd try it anyway.
and sure enough, within half an hour i was fast asleep. No dreams though, which was even more frustrating, cos i'd had none last night!

I think It's better to WILD when you're real tired, cause it's easier to see pictures/movements etc. when you close your eyes.

Although i've never succeeded, i've gotten the best results when i'm tired

when WILDing you shouldnt be too sleepy because you will just fall asleep, also you should only attempt to WILD when you wake up like 5 hrs after youv gone to bed and also up to 3 hrs after you woke up in the morning.

You should never focus on the images that flash infront of your eyes, you should just accept them... by that i mean know that they are there but keep your focus on your breathing. Iv had like 10 succesful WILDs so I kinda know what im talking about, also if anyone more experienced could shed some light on this it would be helpful (ie. point out my mistakes)

My problem with WILD is that I keep having the urge to open my eyes a little when I start to see flashing color patterns and then I go black again. Its like I hit a WILD wall.

Just curious ... isthe first pattern you usually see a ton of tiny red dots with green edge around them? Cause I always do.

I can image pictures in my head really good but I never "see" them. The only thing I ever see is black with little grey blobs every once in a while. Which sucks because I can lay there for an hour staring at blackness and I am not where closer to having a WILD than when I started.

I think they best thing you can do is be really tired and sleep in a really bad position, maybe while sitting in a chair or something. That way you fall sleep but your body hurts and it keeps your mind awake. Might sound silly but the worse the position the more lucid you can be.

Dont try and focus on what you can see when you WILD... you focus totally and completely on your breathing and the rest will come naturally.

yes, this happens to me also, just get a sleep mask and it should take care of the problem.

actually, like I stated earlier, the WORST thing you can do is try to WILD when your really tired, and also never attempt to WILD when your in an uncomfortable position, if you do than it will be impossible to get deeply relaxed.

The main thing is, dont try to rush your WILDs... just focus on your breathing and relax, all that is discussed about WILDing (ie. hypnotic imagery, sounds, sleep peralisis, etc...) comes naturally if you do the WILD right... really the only true rule to follow while WILDing is put all of your focus on your breathing and on nothing else, think:
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
etc...
and the hypnotic imagery and the noises and all will come in good time.

Thats not true. The reason I bought up trying to imagen pictures is because I tried to force HI before. The reason why I tried that is because I don't normally see it. I have tried focusing on my breathing before and literally layed their for over an hour with no results.

If you really tired you will fall sleep even in an uncomfortable position. I should of said that tip isn't really for the normal WILD. The trick to that is to fall asleep then become lucid at the start of the dream(because your not in as deep of a sleep). Which is useful if your not going anywhere with the normal method.
