Thread: My Epic LD

I commend anyone who reads this entire post

Woke up this morning at 7am, fell back to sleep again and had a very brief LD that didn't really go anywhere. I was still really happy though, because i hadn't had an LD in about a month. Got up at 8:30 and went to write down my experience on here. The server was down, so I watched some cricket for bout an hour. With nothing to do I thought I'd go to sleep again (late night last night). Didn't use any specific technique, except relaxing completely first. I entered the ND and what happened follows:

I was in my room and was looking at some magazines and eating chips. I wondered why I had the magazines because they weren't mine, they were a friends who lives furthur down the hall (I live in a Hall of Residence at Uni). I then noticed that I was actually in HIS room. I grabbed some chips and left. When i got in the hallway i noticed that lots of renovations were going on, because everything was in a state of disrepair. I saw a cat/kitten in the hallway and gave it some chips (our cat at home loves them). I continued on to the flight of stairs, but in the dream it had changed to a massive spiral staircase, which you could see right down to the ground floor. I started walking down and saw more and more cats. I gave them all chips and kept walking. When I got to the bottom I entered a room where all the chairs and desks were down further than the ones behind them (like a movie or lecture theatre) There was a stage like platform in the middle at the bottom and there was a court case going on. I took a seat near the stage and watched. The case was Puss In Boots (from Shrek 2) vs. Someone (sorry can't remember who). There was a dog/man creature as prosecutor. PIB was asked if a certain person had commited a crime, everyone expected him to answer "Yes he did it", but he replied "I don't know" there was an uproar from the crowd because he was meant to be helping out.

At this stage the 'courtroom' atmosphere changed slightly. A line of people walked in and made their way to the stage. I can remember seeing Jack Black at the start of the line, there were some singers and then I saw Jack Black again. Around this point in the dream i bacame LUCID. The group of people that entered distracted the judge and others on the stage, and one of the new group secretly swapped a group of booklets that were on stage with a group that he had. I knew straight away that these were booklets that had lyrics to songs that everyone at the court was about to sing. (It seemed to be a bit like a church now) The new group of people sat down and prepared for singing. The actual song was kinda rock/alternative and was a really good song. I can remember trying to memorize the lyrics because I thought it would be very interesting if i did a search on the internet when i was awake and actually found a song containing the same words, but I don't think short term memory for details like that is very good in dreams.

During this song i was rubbing my hands and everything I could to sustain my lucidity and sharpen the images, although I could see everything quite well. When the song finished everyone was leaving and I thought to myself, now I need to find a clock so I can set my LD to last for an hour (I've read up on this technique to prolong dreams somewhere). I had the feeling that I wouldn't be able to summon it out of thin air and just thought I'd have to find one. I left the room in search for a clock and when I entered the next room a 'bully' (I just had a feeling that's what he was) came up to me and said "Where are YOU going?" in a very bullyish manner. I was about to run away when I remembered something Leo_Volont had said about jsut standing up to you 'demons' so I did just that, I walked up to him looked him in the eye and said "Nothing at the moment, why did you want to know?", I did this in a forceful manner and thought to myself, well if he kills me I can remember just to 'live through it' described by leo. The bully backed down a lot and just sor t of muttered "oh, no reason" etc.

I remembered one item on my "Things to do while lucid" list and asked the bully if he had a quest for me. He showed me a piece of paper with a huge list of 'ingrediants' on it that involved get lots of peculiar objects from far away places. I thought to myself 'pfft, i can't be bothered doing that' I then leave the room in search of a Grandfather Clock so that I could prolong my LD (although it had been going for a few minutes already). I went through a door to discover I was now outside.

While I was outside I decided to have a go at another item on my list: to fly with control. I did what I normally do and ran and jumped arms outstreched. I went quite far (50m?) and landed like I always seem to, but didn't actually fly. So I changed my style and had a go at just 'float/flying' by folding my legs where I stood ( which is a strange thing to go through) I was able to float there and with intension move myself upwards. To control myself I would lean in the direction that I wanted to go and would head that way. To speed up all I had to do was concentrate. I flew over to a game of cricket (yeah, I know why I dreamed this) and watched as the batter smacked the ball into the distance quite a way. I yelled to them "Haha, now you have to go all the way over there and get it", they were angry and yelled back "Get it for us!" I wanted to try the next item on my list anyway : Harry Potter powers. So I conjured the balls (somehow there was 2 now) up into the air and made them zoom over to the cricket guys. I made the balls smack into them and laughed as they swore at me. They picked up the balls and threw them both at me. I was still flying so easily dodged them, flew over to where they landed, picked them up and flung them into the distance over a pond.

Wondering how well I could fly like this, I tried going straight up for as far as I could (I usually really struggle to do this). It was as easy as anything and I was soon floating at cloud level. I spotted the main town where I live and saw a clock tower. Remembering that I still hadn't set my LD time I flew into town. After what should have been a rough landing (I was going quite fast but it didn't hurt my legs) I saw the clock tower and began walking towards it. On my way I saw a shop on my left that I thought might contain some sort of clock, so went inside and started looking. I found one pocketwatch but to get to the 'hand' of the watch, i would need to break the glass first. I saw an object that was hard and had a point on it (the object was a combination of a compass and pen) I grabbed it off its stand and realised that it had an alarm set to go off if it was taken. 3 security guards ( one that I know from RL) came up and asked what had happened. I bluffed my way out of it and got off (damn, should have fought them!!).

Deciding that I would try something else I remembered that I wanted to have a go flying a broom. I still didn't think that I could summon anything so decided to go to a shop. I was at a supermarket (I think) and as I entered it I thought to myself, "Okay, I need to find a broomstick". An attendent walked up to me and said "Would you like to by a broomstick" I actually cracked up laughing in the dream but managed to reply "Yes please". She took me over to one of the checkouts and told the lady there that I was looking for a broomstick. She started showing me a large variety of brooms. None of them really suited but I ended up choosing one and getting ready to pay for it. Remembering another thing Leo said (he really came in handy this dream) was that you should always have enought money in your dream. So I decided to just use my EFTPOS card. I gave it to the lady and she noticed the large amounts of cash in my wallet (I appeared to be rather wealthy ) She said she would need ID and so I showed her different forms of identification. As an aside I remember that all my ID was actually of someone else who was Swedish (or similar), but it was me at the same time. Don't really know how to explain it. And also there was a picture of me/my dad (not sure which) and the lady remarked that I/he shouldn't try and commit suicide, upon closer inspection I saw that the wrist was marked with a scar. This whole identification thing made me think in the morning about the possibilites of reincarnation, yadda yadda yadda.

She was pleased with my ID (although I wasn't entirely sure) and I suddenly came up with an idea that I would be pleased to have in RL; I asked if I could also buy a "Droobles best and greatest Candy" this name was made up on the spot and basically I wanted to invent the food that would taste the best to me possible. She said "Okay, a broom and one Droobles best and greatest Candy" Once again I laughed at the state of my Dream Characters. I bought the money with cash (yeah, kinda missed the point there, but I had the money so it didn't really matter) and left the store.

I walked over to a park and and sat down on a bench, eating my candy, and wondering what I did to deserve such an awesome LD. It started to rain a bit so I walked up a slight hill to another bench on a ring of bricks with a fountain in the middle. There was a concert going on in the background that I started watching and can quite clearly remember the band trying to get the crowd going. They were shouting out stuff and playing their instruments, I can remeber that the name of the band was Toblerone, which is very strange that I remeber that detail, and the fact that I have NO idea where that name came from. The lead singer was setting up another mic on the bricked area near me and before he started playing he was talking to random members in the crowd and getting them to shout something over the mic. He eventually asked me a question, but because I wasn't even there to watch the concert I just kinda mumbled something and it came out sounding much higher pitched than my normal voice. I then repeated it in a very deep voice to show that I normally didn't sound like that. They continued on with the concert but it was now indoors (I can't even remember the scene changing, I think I was loosing a bit of my lucidity here) 3 of my friends from Uni walked in and took seats near me. They were all as drunk as possible and giggling to theirselves. The dream just kinda faded here and I woke up. I jumped outta bed yelled "YEEEHAH" and started writing down the whole dream in my tangible DJ.

Points about this dream:

1. The whole dream seemed to be based around finding a clock to set the time limit for the dream. I never found a clock I could change but my dream would have lasted about half an hour anyway (as precisly as I could guess)

2. I had quite a lot of control with what I was doing, and my DC's seemed to be slightly under my influence as well. A VERY cool feeling.

3. The whole Identity thing was kinda strange. I'm going to try and ask a DC in the future what it meant.

4. With that dream I DEMOLISHED my "Things to do while lucid" list. I actually completed three of the four main points on it and now have to come up with new things to add.

A FINAL NOTE: This was the most successful dream I have EVER had. I will never for get it and will probably remember this day for years to come (something else happened today which added to my happiness of the overall day). I wish everyone of you can have the success that I did in a single dream and would like to thank ANYONE who is still reading fo listening patiently to my prolonged blabbering. Kudos to you.
