      My Surprising Reality check

I live 10 storeys up in a block of student accommodation. On morning I had just got out of my shower and was walking round the room completely naked. The door was locked so I wasn't worried about being seen, when a saw the top of a head appear at the very bottom of my window. The worrying thing about the head is that it was slowly ascending, and before I knew it it wasn't just the top of a head, it was a face. Looking directly at me. Immediately I realised how surreal such an event was so I thought "Sweet, I'm dreaming. I finally caught you out my subconscious! Haha! WOO!"

A second later and the truth dawned on me. The head had ascended even further up and was now a full person. I builder in fact, on a lift. Stood outside my window on a builder's lift, and seeing in. I realised then that this was not a dream and I was in fact fully awake and fully naked. Panicked I did the first thing that came to my head. Which was to wave at the builder as he slowly passed my window.

The builder, without laughing or even smiling waved back.

      Fucking embarrassing

It'd be funny if you saw the builder do a reality check!

A friend of mine used to live on a farm in the middle of nowhere. He'd frequently walk around his house naked early in the morning, with the curtains fully open. One day he forgot that he'd booked the piano tuner to come around that morning.

First thing his wife heard that morning was "honey, I think I just mooned the piano tuner!"

Ha! Although i'm sure its the norm for him. He has to go past every window in an accommodation of about 2000 students. I'm sure he has seen lots of naked people, masturbating, having sex, and god knows what else when they think no one could possibly see them.

Dreams catch you out. That's the whole point. You can be doing something completely normal. The only way to be sure is to do a RC. Just last night I did a RC during my dream fully expecting it to pass and I was gobsmacked when it failed! Without the RC there's no way I would have known I was dreaming.

Anyway lol at this thread, especially paragon's comment about if the worker had done a RC

      Thanks for sharing!

Well I guess maybe not for me cos I normally look at the time on my laptop when I wake up lol. And then might visit some forums, then shower ^_^

But I can understand, but my mind isn't 100% there when I am dreaming where as I know when I am 100% awake :-/

It's that kind of thinking that will seriously lessen your lucid dreams.
They can be quite as convincing as anything that happens awake. Reality testing is the only real way to know for certain.
You're so going to have a dream about being on a forum, having this same discussion!!

      Anyway, onto the subject...
Brilliant, hillarious. That's made my day.

At least you didnt have any false awakenings in other departments, whilst on view

Yes I know that they can be convincing but in MY dreams I don't tend to follow a daily routine in them ^_^. Especially the ones where I wake up out of my bed, in those ones I always find it hard to get up in the first place and when I do, I just walk around my bed wondering what's happening, then I'll try something that will make me think it's a dream but nothing happens, but then if I look out the door I can tell that something isn't quite right or looking out the window, the view will always be wrong. But I understand that some other peoples mind but not be as distorted as mine

You don't need the curtains drawn when you are up 10 floors. I can go to the window and look at the city, naked as the day i was born.

Although, last time people saw me naked in my flat was when i got drunk and got naked, and got in the lift. The guy that called it was suprisingly angry. But thats another story.

^ Yeah. At home even though I live high up on a hill and know that noone can see in to my bedroom, I still close my blinds but that's for a different reason, I've got the entire city glaring at me (as in all the lights) and I like it dark. I have sometimes left my blinds open as well but I then to get scared and close them lol. But yeah I understand.
