You should have made friends with that guy. This way maybe he'll come back.
In this dream I opened my front door and went inside my house
and quickly became aware that their was an unexpected presence inside with me as i walked into my kitchen someone held a knife to my throat. i could see the set of kitchen knifes on the work top with one missing and desperatly tried to reach for one but couldnt, struggling i managed to grab a loaf of bread and stuff it in my attackers face forcing myself free to run into my back garden! (as if that would work!, but hey i was dreaming), as i ran outside i remembered that i had seen a pole on the shed floor before, so i decided i would use this as a weapon. I could feel that i had little time as he was coming out the back door so i ducked in side the shed for the pole which once retrieved turned into a useless scrap of wood!, defenseless and terrified that i was about to die, i was about to give in when i became lucid.Realising i was dreaming i tried to take control by telling the attacker that i was in control and that he had to do whatever i said i wasnt convinced that he would believe me and wasn't surprised to see him sneer back at me! panicing i decided to shout louder ordering him to stay at the bottom of the garden untill i said he could move, to my relief he turned his back and stood waiting for my command!!
I ran out my frontdoor and stood in the empty dark street outside my house and looked up to the sky and repeatedly screamed for myself to :o "wake up!"
then i woke up in my bed relieved and astonished at the way in which i had escaped that horrible nightmare. :o

yeh that would be fun![/b]
I think the guy just needed some lovin'. Is that so much to ask?
You're sure you were lucid?
If you knew it was a dream, then you would have known that you'd be safe.
Well, there's a bit of a step from "I'm dreaming" to "Nothing in a dream can harm me". It's not a huge step, but it's possible to have the first without the second, especially in a nightmare.

You may experience pain, but if the pain is an illusion that's part of the dream, then you're not actually hurt. Even if you were hurt, perhaps by experiencing a pain in the body, that doesn't necessarily mean the dream was what hurt you either.
Yes, of course nothing can hurt you in a dream--that's obvious to you while you're awake. It might not be obvious to you while you're dreaming, though

Yeah I know what you mean. You can even know that you can't be hurt, but still be scared. I've had dreams where I know I can't be hurt but I'm too scared to jump off an extremely high ledge. It's just like when kids watch scary movies, they know it's all fake but when they're alone in the dark they still feel fear. It's just a natural reaction.
