    really, really scary experience

    hi i have been wanting to get lucid dreams for the last year, but i have never had one, till yesterday.. you know i have never had the motivation to write a journal and i have never really put in much work in getting a lucid dream. All this happened yesterday evening. and i wonder if anyone of you experienced members could explain all this to me;

    Yesterday night, me and a friend was lying in our beds watching a movie on my portable computer. We are currently living in an old house in southern France. In the end of the movie I fell asleep and had a really weird dream where I was at a school trip with my whole class. At first I remember that things changed as I looked another way, for example roads looked different when i looked at them a second time, so i remember that in my dream I knew something was very fishy. The dream continued and became a little of a nightmare because i felt someone was following me, not a person, but some kind of demon/ghost/spirit(???). The dream ended (I thought so anyway), by me waking up, seeing that the computer had been turned of and that my friend was sleeping. I looked around the room and decided to fall asleep again. I started sleeping and woke up(what i thought again) by hearing loud footsteps throughout the house. I got really scared since it was only me and my friend in the house. I tried to get my friend, eddy's attention by saying his name, but i couldn't it was like someone was preventing me from open my mouth, i tried to move but i couldn't, It was like a ghost held me in my dream. I wanted to wake up from this state but i couldn't. I got really scared, and with all my power sat up in the bed, and i was awake. When i was in this state i was fully conscious. And it now feels like it was a lucid dream or some sort of astral projection. My friend tells me that he was awake all this time and he didn't see me move or anything(when i looked at the computer and the whole room i was sitting up in the bed)!!!

    Can someone explain what happened to me, cause i am afraid of sleeping!
    in some ways this was cool, how can i achieve this state again?

    Sounds like another case of sleep paralysis. You were lucky you didnt have the hallucinations that go with it!

    Yeah sounds like sleep paralysis. It would definitely be worth your while researching it so you can take a calmer approach in future. Dont worry though, its a completely natural occurance, just your not normally concious when it happens .

    In future you might even be able to turn it into a lucid dream.

    Definatly sleep paralisys. My sister had one a week ago and she was really scared. She couldnt move or speak. I told her it is natural and not to afraid to sleep. It must be really scary
