Thread: Teacher in my dream...

How do I know I'm not dreaming right now?
I woke up in the same place I fell asleep... Things are as I remember them... I have a life and a identety...

If I was to take away my long-term memory life would suddenly be a dream. I would just go with the flow and act on instinct...

So what is the purpous of this dream we all share?

We start as children with other dreamers that help to guide us... Our first guides we call parents.. Then we have techers and friends... After a while we can continue to grow on our own and maby even have a child to guide in to how the rules work in this dream...

Respect, love, understanding... I belive that is what the school of life is about... Mainly respect...

I try not to think of what the purpose of life is, I just try to enjoy it and whatever it throws at me. Who knows what comes next.
But its fun to talk to with friends about our existence. We could just be dolls owned by a little girl, and we are her play things. Or we could be like the Sims, merely computer coding.

the girl in your dream is a spirit guide, they can come to you in many forms. (mine has come in the form of an androgenous angel and a dog)

so the meaning of life... everyone has a different opinion, but i think that it is to know the ultimate dreamer (god), to love him (though god is genderless), to realize i was never seperate from him, to realize everyone else is him (and me) and to become him.

Yes, people do have different opinions! For me, I'd say God is definitely masculine (though not necessarily male)... but then, I'm a Christian, and my ideas are probably really different from yours.

I would say the purpose of life is to know God, and to become like him (though not to become him--Christian theology has people as distinct individuals from God) by relating to God, relating to yourself, and relating to others.

The cool thing about God being the "ultimate dreamer" (and I was thinking about this just today, oddly enough) is that, unlike our dream characters, we have free will... our purpose is to be distinct individuals whom God can have a relationship with.

So he created us... and then he let us determine our own course; because he wanted to have a relationship with people who were more than just predetermined robots. Of course, that ended up with us making bad choices and killing each other and making the whole world go bad; but maybe free will is logically impossible without bad choices as well as good.

What makes me give my allegiance to God, though, isn't so much the fact that he's very powerful (of course, he is) but that he is very wise. I can do anything in my dreams; I can fly or create things or whatever I want; but I can't guarantee that, while I'm awake, I'll always do the *right* thing. Apparently God can, which is why I'm trying to learn wisdom from him...

Anyway, sermon ends. I should really learn how to be more succinct.

i just want to say a couple points that crossed my mind, not meant as an attack, just some things to consider,

who's to say that the people we create in our dreams dont have free will?

if god is masculine then wouldn't that limit him? and if god is masculine, what is feminine? if god made man in his own image but created women from men, then are women inferior to men? don't we all have the same divine potential? personally i think god is the union of male and female.

i'd like to tell you my understanding adam and eve as a metaphorical story.
it explains the special creation of humans by god- we were originally divine, a microcosm of the macrocosm- having dominion over the earth as god does over the universe. but we indulged the tree of knowledge of good and evil (duality, maya, illusion) and fell from our divine place. adam represents reason, eve emotion-- by misuse of reason and emotion man relinquished his right to enter the heavenly garden of divine self -suffiency. they lost their consciousness of immortality, and placed themselves under the law by which physical birth follows physical death. thus the personal responsibility of each human is to restore his "parents" (or dual nature) to a unified harmony "eden."

also i think it is possible to become god because jesus did it (as well as many others) try comparing jesus' life to buddha's...its uncanny. buddha was even said to have sacrificed himself in the place of a lamb...but anyway, if you think jesus was just a one time thing look at the old testament IIKings, and read about Elias and Elijah, then read the last line of the old testament, then read the gospels. you might realize that john the baptist is Elijah and Jesus is Elias...this proves that jesus had to be reincarnated at least once (with a double portion of Elijah's spirit) in order to attain perfection.
sorry for rambling, i get passionate about religion.

I have never been religous or any particular belife... I always said: If there is a god or some other force and that god or force wants me to belive in it... It can bloody so tell me it self... I will not blindly follow a religion that was put down on paper by another human... I dont belive in religion... I belive religions are filosofys with some good ideas and some fu__ing wierd ones...

After my near death exp I came to the following belife:

everything within earths atmosphare is physacly conected... I belive earth is like a egg. It has diffrent stages of development. I belive that everything hapening on earth is experianced by earth who infact is a god waiting to be born... I belive that one day we wont need our "eggs/bodies" to play... In the future we will all be conected as one... I belive that what is to come, is accelerating... I also belive that part of earths experiance is that not everyone has the same belife...
