Can't teach an old dog new tricks?
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem:
Once you learn one way of doing something in an LD, do you have trouble getting others to work?
For example: travel.
Now ever since learning to LD, my method of choice for changing my dream scenery was to pretend I'm Aes Sedai from the Wheel of Time and "Travel" (Create a magic portal and step through basically, for those not familiar) to make it more logical to myself.
Now I can't seem to get any other way of traveling to work for me, I tried spin teleporting, changing scene through a non magical doorway, jumping through a mirror, etc. I even had an LD last night where I began in a small room with no doors or windows and tried to simply fly through the ceiling and I just hit my head
Anyone else have this problem? I know its not a horrible one to have, because at least I have a method that works 100% of the time, but it still bugs me

I know what you are talking about! I like levitating things for fun, been doing that for as long as I can remember. For the longest time, I had to use my hand (pointing at the object) to help levitating things, and I wanted to learn how to do it by just looking at it and simply doing it. I think it's been a year or so, and I've managed to without pointing a few times.

Same here, I can only fly if I use my arms as wings. If I bring them in I just fall.

I get that in all my dreams, having to "swim" through the air...
