WILD is not for everyone. (Hardest way to lucidity IMO) Try some other techniques, there are many more opinions out there, don't get discouraged!
If you really want to WILD, try taking caffein. Though I wouldn't force it too much.
I just cannot achieve lucidity through WILD!!! I have been trying everytime I go to sleep, I focus on my breathing but then some time later I just loose consciousness. What could I do to help me WILD and not just loose my focus and fall asleep?
If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
There are so many acronyms for LD. <--- there's one
We should have a dictionary for acronyms or something.

Wild is a very difficult thing, It's hard to achieve it blindly. The way I got it was waking myself up from a dream, and relaxing, and drifting into sleep again. Which is insanely hard.
Using hypnogolic (sp?) imagery is also good - you start imagining a story, and soon you are in that story. You just have to maintain a little awareness and look for physical sensations of WILD...
All together I had 3 WILDs, which vary greatly.
1)Weird WILD within a dream. very close to real WILD. (WILD prototype)
↓
2) Awakening and drifting back to sleep within 1 second (spontaneous WILD) ↓
3)Using Hypnogonic (sp) imagery techinque. (first consciously achieved WILD)
EDIT: addition - make WILD your obsession, and you will get it. It's teh general dream rule for me
My WILDs so far have all been through HI.
You have the opposite problem of me. When I do it I can't fall asleep at all. If you sleep on your side, you can try sleeping on your back, a lot of people say that helps them stay conscious. Or once you start feeling you are falling asleep you can try thinking to yourself "I am going to be in a dream" or something, that way if you do fall asleep you might regain conscious almost right away and be inside the dream

Wow, this thread is really old, and makes me look back at my progress. Since then, I have succesfully WILD'ed several times, and, although I still start drifting off if I am too tired and not aware enough, I recognize this is just try a MILD or such...
It is fun checking out my old threads and seeing the evolution that I've had in only a few months...
