You will find that the imperium that one must always exert some Dream Control, or even that it is advised or even possible, or in any way beneficial has been conjecture and marketing hype from the very beginning. Pure New Age Seminar propaganda and book filler. The Cultures our of which Lucid Dreaming came to us had no requirements to engage in Dream Control, and when they were told of our Cultures obsession with Dream Control they were HORRIFIED. They insisted that the Purity of Lucid Dreaming would be completely spoiled by the active and obtrusive interfereance being exerted by the Dreamer. The Dreamer should RESPECT the dream, and not ever be trying to DESTROY the Dream with explosive bursts of Dream Scene shattering Control. You see, they regarded Lucid Dreams as the avenues of almost Divine Revelation... as Holy and Sacred... and the idea of blasting the Dreams with spurts of Control... well, it seems as in appropriate as interrrupting the Voice of God with belches and farts.

You can see for yourself that the Dream Higher Mind strongly objects to Dream Control. This is why we see False Awakenings. This is the Higher Dream Mind trying to shake off the Dream Control... to make the Dreamer believe he is awake so that he will stop trying to destroy everything.

So, stop believing the propaganda, and start believing your own dreams.

So... you're saying my... uh... "Dream Higher Mind" doesn't like me attempting control because it thinks I will destroy everything?

I didn't want to, all I wanted to do was fly in my own house/get out of the house!

It seems to me that you started with wrong methods and they ruined your confidence. Dream control is a complex action and it involves many factors. The 3 main ones are : Willpower, Intent and Visualization.
So if you want to summon an apple, you will for that apple to appear, you intend that it would appear, and you visualize. Also, be confident that you will succeed. If one method doesnt work, adjust and try another one.
Start small, pick a thing and alter it. Or summon something. In my first full lucid dream I created a sword, but it was so unstable that I spent most of the dream talking to it "Blade 3 feet long" "2 inches wide" , and so on. In the end the sword turned into a cone of ice cream

Also try to fly or levitate. You will feel the "force" of the dream, this force may be used to do a variety of things.

This morning I had another lucid dream. I tried to fly, and my dream self almost managed to remember Willpower, Intend, and Visualization. Except it kinda screwed up and that intend was intent. But it doesn't matter in the end.

So first, I looked up at the stars, and said. "I have the Will to fly. I really have the intent to fly." And then I imagined myself flying. Then, I started flapping my arms like a bird and I got about 3 feet high until I fell. Then, I improvised. I used the same 3 steps, except this time I tried a Mario 64 like wing cap. Amazingly, I reached for my head, and pulled off the wing cap!!!! I put it back on my head, but I couldn't do that mario like triple jump thing to get into the air

But at least I managed to summon something. I can't thank you enough!

Think simple. Try diving off something sorta high up. My first good fly attempt started at my house, and we are sorta living on a hill, so, I just jump at an angle and after gaining some speed, I just steered and stayed up. I was only a about 10 feet in the air, but I think flying is funner that way.

Haha as sweet as mario 64 is (as is proven by the masses of people who attempt the wing cap and the triple jump) your better off just standing there and instead of jumping or flapping just imagine an invisible force pushing you off the ground from under your feet. flapping of course is the worst thing you can do, even though everybody tries it. It sux for three reasons 1) ive never heard one account of it working, ever. 2) You look like a jackass when you do it. 3) It's frustrating as hell to start flapping and then start sinking and then start trying to flap harder to get higher, fighting a losing battle. first time i tried to flap my way into the air, it didnt work and i was so mad i killed somebody. set them on fire. no joke.

I didnt' try to actually flap my wings.... it just happened. I was actually trying to go superman style.

I find that you can't really change the landscape of the dream, the only thing you can do in the dream is to keep
moving until you like the landscape. There are things you can do to make the place your in better. One is to just stop and take time to look around a little. The dream while become more clear to you. An other thing that you can do is make objects appear, Like saying to your self that there is car in the next room, or "I all ready have that in my hands" sounds really weird and nothing that would help but it works.
