Nope, dreaming in a dream cannot happen. I guess its possible to dream about such a thing. You don't double dream, the orginal dream just goes into another dream theme. See what i'm saying?
You know how when you get excited in a dream you lose your lucidity?
(or any other way that you can lose lucidity) what if your dreaming in your dream? that would mean if your in your second dream and you lost control of it then you might "wake up" in your first dream. is that possible?![]()

Yes you can. I set up a MILD from within a dream. It was on my mind all day and I had a dream about it. I set it up, closed my eyes and ended up in a MILD. Of course it was just a transition, but while in it, I felt like I was in a dream within a dream.
"Wake up" in a dream is just false awakening.
I agree with pepsibluefan. You can't dream within a dream.
You can't really dream in a dream. It would be more like a false awakening and starting a new dream. You would "fall asleep" in your dream, then another dream would start.
but what if your dreaming in a dream and the first dream is hidden in another part of the subconscious?
no. and if it was, you wouldnt have any clue about it and therefore its really irrelevant.
you can dream about dreams; but its not 'a dream within a dream' as such. your dream just changes; you do not hold different degrees of consciousness

I think it's possible...

Do you realize that you are dreaming?
I guess the setting would change, but it's not like you're entering another state of conciousness or anything. And if you woke up from that dream, you would probably just wake up.
And wouldn't you have to become lucid in that dream in order to control it?

Think it's probably be possible but it would be the same feeling if you just transitioned from one LD to another. It could be a dream inside a dream, or a dream next to another dream.
Jen was 13 years old. A fairly normal girl. She spent a lot of time online.
One day, she made a new friend. He liked the same bands, worried about the same subjects.
They decided to meet at the local mall. She went. So did he.
Only he wasn't in junior high.
HE WAS A 1500 LB GRIZZLY BEAR.
1 in 5 children online get eaten by wild bears. And you didn't even know bears could type.

i dont think its possible...I think its just a transition to another LD or non- LD

In the waking world you have a physical world and an imaginative world.
When you dream there's just imagination. If you imagine something in an imagination, it's the same thing. This is why if you "imagine" that you're somewhere else in a dream, you might just end up there.
Everything is based on one single plateau. At least thats my way of seeing it.
