      When reality-checks adapts

I can't WILD, not for the past 5 years anyways (tried just about everything). The only thing that works for me is a DILD. Since I can only DILD, my LDs are totally dependent on RCs and signs. I'm a fan of the 'counting your fingers' RC, which up till now always worked for me. I could take a short glimpse of my hand and instantly get lucid, even without counting the fingers!

About one week ago, I had a dream that was incredible vivid. I suspected that it was a dream, and I looked at my hand. My hand looked just fine, 5 fingers, no problem. Wait what? My hand which from gestalt-psychology was interpreted as a "dull object with pointy things sticking out of it", and was now interpreted as a "dull object with exactly 5 fingers". Something that had stayed the same for almost 3 years had radically changed. In that dream I was really doubting that it was real-life, so I took a breathing-test (where I almost chocked) - and I took the dream for reality after that.

Last night I had another dream in which I actually busted, even if my hand was normal (due to a common sign). So I'm now starting to ponder.
Will I have to acquire myself a new RC? What if I adapt to this RC too? Anyhow, to add some good in the bad, I guess it would be better to say that my perceptions adapt to more realistically describe objects. Maybe I should be thankful?

Hi, the digital watch(Has to be DIGITAL) RC is the only RC that does not adapt for me at least. All the others don't work anymore..Hope this helps.

You're probably right, since remembering symbolics will never be manifested in the brain.
      Thanks!

But one important thing to note when implementing the watch RC...never leave it lying around...eg in the other room, always keep it in Ur pocket..basically keep it with U at all times. It will happen in the dream which cost me a lucid...

You could also do two totally different reality checks just to make certain.

The problem is: A reality-check done AFTER you're lucid would most likely come out as bogus, because you're already lucid and you have certain expectations. So in order to do two RCs I'd probably have to the 'new' RC first, then the most successful one after. If your first 'new' RC doesn't work, may it be that you have higher expectations that it isn't a dream, and the chances of your "always-working-super-RC" might fail?

But I'm just complicating things, letting my thoughts out freely for anyone who cares to ponder. Nothing of the above has been proven, and is most likely a fallacy. There are tons of dreamsigns out there and almost "failsafe" RCs (like symbolics) that should work out even with a high amount of doubtfulness.

I have yet to meet someone who has been deceived by symbolics in a RC.
If anyone has, or it has been discussed in these forums, I'd be happy to read it if someone pointed it out. It will most likely be my new RC, but it might take a while to convert
