I suggest you wake up during acouple of REM periods through out the night, you always are dreaming during rem periods get up at 6 hours and 7 and a half hours thats when your in rem.

As some know, my recall sucks. I mean it sucks like a vacuum cleaner. Hell, it sucks like a prostitute, but thats not the point. The point is, it is really, really crap. Dream Journalling is difficult when I can't remember anything to journal.
I hear B12 is amazing for recall and memory, so Im thinking of picking up a good amount. What would be a good selection in terms of millegrams? Im hoping to use B12 to improve my Recall enough to dream journal, and work from there.
When I say my recall sucks, I mean it really sucks. I only ever remember "important" or really, really intense dreams. I have only remember one "normal" dream in my life. Check my Dream Journal for an idea. (Also note the dates, those few are over quite a few years)
Anyway, suggestions?

I think it is B6, not 12
have you tried "seeding" (I think that is the right turm) a dream by focusing on a story all through the day, and thus (hopefully) remembering the dream when you wake up because you already had the idea set in your mind?

for me, lots and lots of water before bed + suggestion "I will wake up after each and every dream with vivid recollection"= wake up at 4 o'clock sharp every single night (for me. weird). It's important that you not fall back asleep though. Just lay there and try and remember what your dreams were, get down key ideas, then perhaps go get some milk, etc. Do some minor activities to try and stimulate some memories, then from here you can either attempt to WILD, or just go back to bed. 'Tis what I do. I tend to not be able to remember the dreams before 4, but I remember 2 or 3 between 4:30-8 when I have to get up. I don't take b12, but it appears everyone is doing it, so I might go pick some up. You could also program a binaural beat that drops you down to dreaming levels, then slowly brings you back to waking levels, so that the harshness of an alarm clock distracting you and making you forget your dreams shouldn't be a problem. I dunno.

If i where you, id have total confidence ill have a vivid dream and right before bed drink a ton of water and when going to sleep dont worry so much as if your going to have one just KNOW you will.
that aways works for me.
but yeah drinking alot of water will make you wake up alot and hopefully during REM
Goodluck
As I posted on another topic:
"When I first learned of Lucid Dreaming, I RARELY ever remembered my dreams. IMO, one of the most important things to do is to keep a dream journal. When I first started I said, "How am I going to keep a dream journal when I don't even remember my dreams?" The trick is to write SOMETHING down every morning no matter what. Just start with emotions or feelings that you get when you wake up. Eventually, you will be able to remember more bits and pieces of your dreams, until you remember entire dreams.
It may take some time, because everyone is different. For me it only took a few weeks to be able to recall several dreams per night. Now I am finding that my dream recall is going down very much because I have stopped dream journaling. I am confident that if I pick it up again then I will improve.
As you are falling asleep, tell yourself with confidence that you will remember your dreams upon waking up. Tell yourself it is the only natural thing that could happen. And make sure to write something down every day.
Good luck and keep practicing.
EDIT: Oh, and when you are trying to recall in the morning, don't move at all. As soon as you wake up and turn off your alarm or whatever, just lay there and think for 3-5 minutes. Often times, I cannot remember them right away but will remember more if I wait for a while. Give it a try and be patient."
I have the same problem... I neverrr remember my dreams. But I guess for now I'm just going to keep my mind set on remembering them and try and forget about the lucid part for now..

You're right, kev. Roughly. Remember however that you CAN drink shitloads of water before going to bed, tell yourself to wake up at a certain time as you are going to sleep, and set your alarm thirty minutes later than when you plan on waking as a backup. You'd be amazed how accurate your body clock can be IF you go to bed at the same time each night.
As for B6 and B12 - I use both reasonably frequently. A few times each month. Mostly B6 for my WILDs and B12 for dream recall. I can't remember how much B12 I use per dose, but I DO remember that it's best to use the time-release ones and take it an hour or so before bed. Can;'t remember the exact amoung, but it's NOT in mg's. It's way less than that, in ugs. Not "u" but the greek letter that looks like "u", whatever that means. I'll tell you the dose I use when I get home and post it here, when I get back from uni. (At uni now)

Im right now just wondering when I should take the B6 and the B12. Just before I go to sleep? A few hours before I go to sleep?

Tutorials tutorials tutorials... this was from O'nus's tutorial...
Proper Intake Times: If you have read over the scriptions of these neurotransmitters and supplements, it should be relatively obvious what the order should be, although it depends on your mood (balance of these chemicals in the brain):
Groggy Bored Mood:
- Vitamin B6 (60-120min. before retiring)
- Serotonin (40-60min. before retiring)
- Melatonin (20-40min. before retiring)
Excited Anxious Mood:
- Glass of water, or milk (2-3 hours before retiring)
- Melatonin (40-60min. before retiring)
- Serotonin (not recommended, thus, I won't give a time)
- Vitamin B6 (20-40min, before retiring)
You can take vitamin b6 once more at the time of going to bed, especially if your diet for the day has been low in this vitamin complex. I, however, do not recommend taking any serotonin supplements. Simply eat the right foods regularly and do not incorporate them into any intake schedules. [/b]
If u cant get up naturally and the alarm kills your recall
Use autosuggestion
I had the same problem as you
meditate a little, and then use auto suggestion bfore you go to bed
woprks a treat 4 me

taking B12 in tablets that you suck under the tongue could be much more effective than pills that you swallow, because many people have a poor absorption of B12.
Maybe you sleep too deeply. Try airing the room some more ( by leaving a window open when you sleep ). Try using a thinner pillow ( or if it's possible no pillow ). Try leaving a little light on ( so that you don't sleep in complete darkness )
You probably know that already, but avoid marijuana coz' it's probably bad for dream recall.

hey exobyte,
Ive had absolutely terrible DR in the past but recently i've been getting A LOT better. I take D-12 anywhere from 3 hours to 30 minutes before I go to bed. Just whenever I think of it. Also whenever I wake up I just lay there and think... "where was I just now?" and usually i think of one word.. This morning was island. and then my mind races and I remember "I dreamed i was stuck on an island!" and from that I usually remember the bulk of my dreams.
I wish you the best of luck.
