Alright... in order...
1. It is very possible to have a lucid dream within the first week, especially if you have a lot of time to spend on it, however, if you don't have one real fast, don't give up. Your logical part of your brain has to learn how to recognize dreams. Then it can come out in your dreams.
2. It's not as dependant on cycle as it is on how much time you allow yourself to dream. Your first 5 hours you will usually not have dreams. I have had most of my lucid dreams after five to seven hours.
3. Yes. Next time she wakes you up abruptly, slap her.
4. Keep up your dream journal, do your reality checks over and over throughout the day, and keep asking questions on the forum.
5. As stated above, most of it relies on how much time you have to dream in REM state.
6. Yes. Check out Wake initiated lucid dreams, or nap initiated lucid dreams. I've had a LOT of success with those.
I'm sorry that I am cutting this short. I will write more in a little bit, when I have more time.
Keep dreaming!
