If you're stressed, it typically has a negative affect on recall.
Quick question here; if you're in any other mood besides content when you go to sleep, does it effect your level of DR?![]()

If you're stressed, it typically has a negative affect on recall.

Current Lucid goals:
1: Have one WILD.
2: Fight Agent Smith.CHECK
3. Swing through a city like Spider-Man.CHECK
Alternatively, if you're in a good mood, does that have a positive effect on recall?

Some day I'll be researching around the topic of "free energy" or perhaps "over-unity", at least in my dreams
My Sleep
I don't know if it effect the DR, but when i'm depressed i got LDs.
I envy you! When I'm depressed, I have trouble turning my mind off and have trouble even falling asleep and recalling any dreams (let alone having lucid dreams).
When I feel happy, I feel confident, and when I feel confident.. my recall does seem to be better and my chance at WILDs improve.
If I'm depressed or stressed, my dream recall will be horrible. My dream recall will also be bad for the first part of the night at least if I'm very tired. If I'm excited and especially happy when going to bed, I'll have better and often more action-filled lucid dreams.
Positive feelings would be the best...
Yeah, I have to agree with Luminous on this. When I'm stressed out, like if I have loads of homework to do my dream recall sucks and when I'm happy or satisfied my dream recall is loads better.

I think that it can affect your DR
I mean overall i'd agree that a better mood = better recall and such,
but as far as dream reality,
'
i've found that my mood and state of mind affects my DR profoundly, because if i'm scared or something, that mood will be an underlying "theme" in my dream and i've found that my subconscious tries to deal with it in there.
this isn't always present in the dream and even if i'm lucid i'm not aware of this immediately or at all,
but after keeping a DJ for a few years i've really started to see that if something is on my mind, my mind will deal with it anyway it can, whether my conscious self knows it or not.
however i'm a very anxious person so that might have something to do with it, might just be a variable that triggers preoccupation.
alternatively when i'm at peace and content i have the best, positive, unusual, most explorative dreams.
so i guess you can say that stress (at least for me) can really hinder your dreams. I've found that my mind gets preoccupied with that negative emotion and it spills into my dream world.
At least that's how i think it works with me, but maybe some of this is true for others too.

I f*king love this banana----->
I seem to have pretty good recall when I go to bed stressed or irritated. I might even say it's marginally better than when I'm content. I don't know why. I always think to myself, "I'm not gonna remember anything tonight," but counter-intuitively, I usually do.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald
