They say B6 is good for recall, and B6, I've heard, is in fruits and veggies.
That could explain it.
My recall sucks, and I am a sugarholic.
This may just be coincidence, but when I'm not eating enough fruits and vegetables, it seems my dream recall drops.
Are people who are currently experiencing low recall not eating enough fruits and veggies? That's not rhetorical, I really want hear from people.
And how about people with great dream recall? What does your diet consist of?

Yah, I wanna get Vitamin B6 Tablets soon so I take them every morning (I think it's morning, or night. I saw in a movie that it was night, but I think I might have to ask first.)
Feel free to chat to me. I'm on Skype nearly every day.
"GOSH, YOU LOOK UGLY"
"THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR MUM SAID LAST NIGHT!"
"MY MUM'S DEAD!" (BLAM)
B6 is in just about anything that's real food.
I would say diet has no impact on me; the exception might be if I eat a shitload of sugar a few hours before bed; I get an insulin headache and feel all sorts of worn out, and sleep that night is usually deep and dreamless. Other than that... my best dreaming streaks have been summer '06 and summer '02, and both of those eras were defined by food staples like pizza, chicken nuggets, and bread bread bread, and a marked absence of fruits/veggies. Nowadays I get upwards of 10 servings F/V a day, and while it makes me feel like a million bucks I can't say it's done any wonders for my recall.
The only thing I can think of that I ate back then copiously that I don't now would be lots of cheese. I eat no dairy these days, but when I do occasionally transgress I still don't get anything more than usual that night.
So for me: diet doesn't do much to dreams directly, but the boost of self-esteem and physical feel-gooditude a good diet engenders has, for me at least, vastly improved my overall mood and enthusiasm for living in general, which translates to increased eagerness to perform LD techniques and confidence that I can do them.

My diet and dream recall relation... hmm.... I don't think there really is one except that my dreams are even more vivid when I eat bananas [one's good enough] or when I rarely eat some repulsive grease bomb like McDonald's or even any fast food really... I do eat a lot of vegetables and rarely eat red meat [my family's more of a fish/poultry family, maybe since the foods are lighter and quicker to digest it may affect dream recall]
If anything, I say my dream recall's good because I write in my dream journal often [I can't say every time or else I'd be more awake than asleep ever night] and because I try not to go to sleep stressed [key word is try, physical stress is harder to get rid of than mental stress since most physical stress people don't realize exists albeit subconsciously]
