I'm not very experienced either but I keep a dream journal and it has definitely helped my recall. You should pronbably check the tutorial section for more information![]()
I started out try to obtain lucidity awhile ago with my friend, and we started to recall dreams. I recorded a few nice long dreams, but for the past couple of days, I haven't been abke to recall more than a very small amount. Can anyone tell me some tricks or techniques to help me recall better? Or does it just come with time and practice?

Back in black!
You hit the nail on the head. Time and practice is all it takes. I wouldn't worry about only remembering little bit's of your dreams, it's better than having no recall at allOriginally posted by Da_Kirbster

My advice would be to continue with your journal, it also helps if you lay still when you wake up - the first thing on your mind should be 'what was I just dreaming?' If you have any other thoughs e.g. 'I must remember to call so & so' your dream recall will be affected. Don't move until you are sure you can't remember any more of the dream then write it down straight away.
Another tip is to wake yourself up during REM sleep, to do this simply set an alarm to wake you up 5-6 hours after you fall asleep - once you fall back asleep you may also find that your dreams are more vivid due to the concious brain activity you experienced waking up earlier.
Hope this helps![]()
Are you dreaming or awake?

Alright I'll continue with my journal and try that not moving thing you talked about. Thanks for the help!
I just think about my dreams for a few minutes after waking up (going like.. hmm.. weird dream... what happened again.. oh yeah.. this and that and that).
It has helped me throughout 16 years now, and the most funny part is:
I do not keep a dream journal and I STILL remember NEAR EVERY DREAM.
best part of all is, I decided to update the "Lucid Dream Project" i'm working on.
The moment I wrote my dream in the database, I suddenly remembered EVERY DREAM I ever had, like a chain of memories.
So maybe you could try that, not worrying about your journal for a while, and writing one in after a week or so.
Not sure how it'd go for you but it did wonders for me.
I even remembered dreams I forgot I ever had![]()
