      No Recall

      Okay.
I know that there have been lots of threads on dream recall, and I have read them. The only thing is, in all of the threads, people talk of having 'previous recall' and no longer have 'as good recall'.
This isn't my issue. My issue is:
For the past week, I have been attempting dream recall. Thus, have a note book full of 'Remembered nothing's. For the past week I have been attempting remembering my dreams, I have remembered absolutely nothing. I don't even recall having any dreams, let alone what they were about.
This means, if I don't ever recall anything, remember dreaming or not, I can't learn to recognise signs, etc. If I don't recall any dreams whatsoever, even remember having these dreams, it makes it rather hard to say to myself 'I'm dreaming' or learn to lucid dream, right?

I've tried a few techniques like waking through the night and remaining awake to try and remember dreams, saying to myself over and over again 'when I awake I will remember what I dreamt about' and so on, so forth. I've tried getting good sleep, and waking in the morning and trying to remember things....

Unfortunately, I have progressed on from 'just wait' to 'this is damned annoying'.
So, If anyone knows where I'm going wrong, please tell; or if there's anything else I could try, I'll be forever thankful.
      Thanks!

The only advice I can give is patience. Lucid Dreaming can (and does) take years to perfect. In the long scheme of things one week isn't much to worry about. The trick is to not get discouraged. Give it a few months, if after that time you are still having no recall then I would be surprised.
Also, instead of writing 'No Recall' Try write down how you are feeling, when you wake up, lay still for 5 minutes or so and try to think back over what emotions etc were going through your mind. Do you feel happy? Frustrated? Scared? Write it down.

I'm pretty sure you will succeed in time.
      Hope this helps.
      Are you dreaming or awake?

Set your alarm clock to awaken yourself at different times during the morning. This will both allow you to wake up with a start not allowing memories of dreams to slip away and allow you to, in time, perhaps, deduce a certain tendency of when to wake up in the morning in order to wake from a REM period.

However, that is the kind of advice that utilizes technicalities, the kind of advice that may still result in failure because one allows for it.
The best advice for anything related to dreaming (just like for most everything else in life really) is using your force of will. One's will power is one of the strongest forces in one's self. If you really have the intent to recall your dreams and you will yourself to recall them then you will, I assure you.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try both techniques.
