      Problems with a dream journal

I have been doing a dream journal for quite a while now. The problem is there aren't as many entrees as there should be. The reason being my lack of motivation in the middle of the night.

I wake up in the middle of the night right after a dream. I know I should write it down, but I am way too tired to do so. Because then I have to get out of bed, turn on the light, grab the journal and pen, then start writing. I love sleeping so much, I would rather go back to sleep. I tell myself I'll remember in the morning, and write them down then, but that never happens, because I forget.

Then when I actually do write down my dreams It's really difficult! I'm really tired, and my eyes are hardly open (especially my left eye) and I half assedly write. Then of course I can't even read what I wrote later because I wrote it so sloppy.

Does anyone else feel this way or have a way to fix this problem?

Also, I have a question about writing them down. Am I supposed to write down EVERY LITTLE DETAIL, like I'm writing a novel, or just the basic of what happened?

i use my cell phone to record my dreams, i just talk to it. i talk about my dreams and record that its way faster and i feel i get more detail i want.
when i record like that i record stuff like "um" or "fuckin" lol.
i couldnt find my phone one night and i had a dream to record so i went back to paper it was so slowww so half way through i went and found my phone and rerecorded all of it.
last night i had a really long epic storyline Normal dream, i was too lazy to even record it onto my phone "its just like any other normal dream". now i kinda feel bad cause there was plenty of stuff to recall from that one, o well.

so i suggest use a Audio/voice recorder to dream journal.

Some people who have trouble with recall tend to just write a few key words to help them remember the basics of what happened and then fill in the rest in the morning.

      Just an idea.
