      Questioning wording of affirmations?

At bedtime I've been using the affirmation:

"I will wake after my dreams and remember them."

But I was wondering if the, "remember" part specifies exactly what it is I intend to do: "remember" could mean "vague recollection" - my brain remembers having a dream, and that's it.

Would a more specific affirmation help? The one I'm thinking of is:

"I will wake up after my dreams and be able to recall lots of events."

Strictly speaking the second version is less precise, those can be any "many events", some of them could be from the previous day in real life and not from dreams . The first one states clearly that you'll remember dreams. But wording is personal, if you have doubts change it to the one that you think is more precise and not the one that I think is more precise.

"I will wake up after my dream, and remember said dream in its entirety." This could work better. Remember not to only say/think this statement, but truly believe it. Go to sleep expecting (not just hoping) that this statement will come true. Good Luck!

I think I'll try that one Yoshi.

I liked the other one you did as well, along the lines of, "Next time I'm aware and anywhere but my bed I'll know I'm dreaming."

I'm never quite sure which affirmation to choose when I go to bed. Any thoughts on that?

Hmm...I would suggest trying a specific one for a while and see if it works out for you. If it seems to not be working, I would go ahead and try a different one for a while. The key to a mantra is more than just saying/thinking it, its truly believing it. As long as you keep doubts to a minimum, I'm sure you will find one that works for you. Alot of the lucid dreaming specifics are trial and error, simply because everyone thinks differently.

      " everyone thinks differently"

That's very true, and I think that's why many folk find a way that works for them and think they've found "the guarantee" and want to tell the world about it.

That is absolutely correct. I advise anyone to try the advice they recieve from this site, but understand that even the best techniques may not work for some. Just keep working at it, experimenting using trial and error, and learn from errors and mistakes. Just like everything else in life I suppose. What you put in, is what you get out!
