Waking up at the wrong times
The first night I kept my dream journal, I would wake up during the night and remember every detail of the dream. The last two days however I have started waking up in a confused state, not knowing what exactly is going on. I often smash at my phone attempting to silence my alarm and go back to sleep without thinking about my dream journal. When I am aware of whats happening, I will try hard to remember what my dream was about, if I fail, I lay down and try to trick my body into thinking I'm asleep to remember. But I just kept drifting back into a dream and forgetting it upon waking up. Today all my recollections were done at 5:40 AM so I didn't really get as many details as I wanted. Could this be because I am waking up at the wrong times? If it is 8:30 and I am going to bed, I set my alarm to 10:30 because I want to leave enough buffer time for me to get to sleep. Another thing is that my phone's ringer is pretty obnoxious to make absolutely sure I wake up. Would setting it to something else be beneficial?
