Its been going real slow. Since I've joined this site I've remembered one dream but that dream was quite vivid and i wrote it down in my journal. The thing is, I have no idea what I did to remember it or if I just got lucky.. Also, when I wake up, my thoughts are so jumbled I have a hard time focusing on what I dreamed about. What are you supposed to think about to remember your dreams? I have a big problem with random thoughts coming into my head and distracting me in the morning. Any tips? Thanks.

Wish me luck for in the morning.

hiya...best thing to do when trying to remember dreams in the morning is just to lie still, and ask yourself what you were just doing, where were you?

If you can remember small details, they usually lead you back into the content of the dream.
when you think you have it in a fairly coherent order, go write it down in your dream journal...

hope that helps.

Oh, and good luck for the morning.

Well I remembered my dream this morning. Even though it was weird and cut up almost into multiple dreams. It might have been I have no idea... But i guess I'm just starting to remember more. But school is coming tomorrow and I just hope that doesn't affect my dream recall..

I've been going through a patch of terrible recall and the tip I got was to set my alarm to wake me up at some point a few hours before I wake up normally. I did this last night and I remembered 3 dreams, one of them lucid. I was so happy

Yea I don't want to do all that stuff with B6 or B12. I can't be bothered for one thing. ALso a tip that lots of people do is to drink LOTS of water before going to bed to wake you up naturally during the night

I hope someone looks in here so they can answer my question cause I hate to start another thread just for this but....
How do you differentiate (<<spelling??) between multiple dreams? For example, I want to say that I remembered 3 different dreams last night.. (one at a party, one i was stuck on an island, and one was at some museum/casino that was being built) or could that just be multiple dreams in one REM cycle? Do dreams have to be in separate REM cycles for them to be considered different dreams?

it can be difficult to know if they were three seperate dreams, or a dream with three seperate things happening. either way, I wouldnt worry too much about that.

do you remember any dreams from your past? when I first started my dream journal I actually wasnt thinking about dream recall, I was just writing down every dream I could remember from my past starting from the age of five. at first, I didnt remember many, but then memories flooded back to me. whos know, maybe I made them up, but the more time I spent thinking about past dreams the more I remembered newer deams

I'm almost remembering something every night since I joined. I'm trying to read something somewhere on the board and it seems to help get me in the right mind-set.

I have a suggestion. When you wake up, don't do anything. Don't move, don't talk to anyone. Just try and remember your dream. It may seem silly, but whenever I wake up talking to people/doing something/wake up too fast my "dream memory" is completely wiped.

And before you sleep, put your journal next to your bed, and tell yourself you'll recall your dream and will write everything down.

But remember, this is the first thing you should do when you wake up (well, at least when your recall isn't going that great)

About separating multiple dreams... hmm I dunno, most times I write everything in a big single dream. (unless i wake up during the night, and then sleep and dream again)

One dream per month is pretty good for one who hasn't even attempted TRYING to remember dreams. I used the have 1-3 a year, but now I'm recalling up to 10 vivid dreams. Be happy you're remembering dreams, if you get discouraged then your recall might stop all together.

But, if you want to remember more, say "I will remember my dreams and wake up after each dream period." when you go to bed. If for the first 5 days you're still not recalling much, set your alarm for 4 1/2-6 hours of sleep when you begin to fall asleep. A dream then is almost guaranteed.

My buddy also has trouble with his dream recall. But whenever we discuss our dreams for a while, more dreams that he initially could not recall seem to flood into his mind like he is opening a hidden door to another room of memory.

Also i sometimes remember my dreams because of objects or people in reality. One time i woke up and could not remember my dream, but when i walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth, in a sense of deja vu i instantly remembered that someone in the recent past had told me that my breath smelled bad. I then realized that this remark was from my dream.

Maybe if you have recorded enough dreams, you can develop a list of objects or people that frequent your dreams. Then if you wake up one morning having trouble recalling a dream, you can look over your list and think about the qualities of the objects and people on the it. This may allow you to have that feeling, "Wait, when did i last _______"

Maybe that will help you out.
