What do you feel like when you get Lucid

I am curious what you feel like when you get lucid. When i get lucid its the haze that covered your dream you didnt know was there gets lifted and you suddenly realize how clear everything is. What is it like for you?

It seems to me that the Conscious Energy Level kicks up by a few significant notches... more than Clarity, there seems to be a throbbing intensity, a radiating beauty in even the most ordinary things.

A student once asked Carl Jung the great psychologist about what differentiated his Big Dreams from ordinary dreams, and he answered that it was simply a matter of their perceived intensity. In a World where many people can argue whether or not we only dream in black and white, the perception of especially Vibrant Colors in a dream is enough to signal that a particular Dream especially Important.

I dun' know, when i'm lucid, i really dun' feel all that powerful, i just feel refreshed & relaxed. For me it is an escape. After an LD i usually feel stronger & up for a challenge &/or change in life for the better.

I have only had a few, but mostly I feel a kind of exhaustion mixed with excitement and confusion. Very rarely have I had enough consciousness to think logically or remember things. Sort of detatched from reality.

I have WILDed before, but after an LD (even though its the perfect time), I feel very reluctant to try and wild, as if I dont want to be in another LD for a while.

But thats me, I'm just crazy.

It feels like I'm walking through a fine mist into a cool shower.

For me it's just another state of being. Kinda like if I'm awake still. Honestly I much prefer the feeling I get when I'm dreaming freeform. I know it sounds weird but that's how I feel.

If I'm dreaming deeply, it feels as real as it gets. Sometimes even reality checks might fail. I experienced that recently when I did the text reality check when I had an extremely real dream.
I walked down a street and found an Iron Maiden ticket. I checked if the text changed after looking somewhere else and on it again, it didn't. However, I always know that I'm lucid so that might affect normal dream signs.

During naps I often feel like I'm floating somewhere before entering the dream. When I'm dreaming it's very light and I can hear the sounds from the outside world... it can get confusing sometimes.

This is an abstract quote that I think fits perfectly when describing how a lucid dream feels.

      EYE OF THE DUCK

"A duck is one of the most beautiful animals. If you study a duck, you'll see certain things: the bill is a certain texture and a certain length; the head is a certain shape; the texture of the bill is very smooth and it has quite precise detail and reminds you somewhat of the legs (the legs are a little more rubbery). The body is big, softer, and the texture isn't so detailed. The key to the whole duck is the eye and where it is placed. It's like a little jewel. It's so perfectly placed to show off a jewel - right in the middle of the head, next to this S-curve with the bill sitting out in front, but with enough distance so that the eye is very well secluded and set out. A lot of times you can get the bill and the legs and the body and everything, but this eye of the duck is a certain scene, this jewel, that if it's there, it's absolutely beautiful. It's just fantastic."

      David Lynch

      Dreams

"I would love to be in that state [of a waking dream] all day long, but you have to have some quiet. The world is getting louder every year, but to sit and dream is a beautiful thing."

"In my dream, I see these fantastic paintings that were done by somebody else. And I wish that I had painted them. And I wake up, and after a while the impression wears off. I say, wait a minute, those are my paintings. I dreamt them; they're mine. Then I can't remember what they were."

"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

When I am lucid my headaches go away and I feel a nice pleasure coursing throughout my body. I would assume that not everybody is the same.

to me, lucidity is another state of awareness, it is similar to consciousness, but also different. i can sometimes still have that whole 3rd person thing that happens in dreams, but still be lucid...
if you've ever experimented with altered perceptions, through meditation or otherwise, i think it is more clear to relate to a distinctive 'shift' in perception.

simply, lucid dreaming feels to me like those moments in the day when everything is just right, but with a hint of surrealism in the back.
