For the past 3 days I cannot remember onesingle dream when I wake up in the morning! A week beforehand I was waking and remembering 6 or 7 dreams at a time. So how come my dream recall was so good a whileback and now it's just gone to shit? I have so much trouble even reembering one dream now it's so annoying. I have started setting my alarm at first once in the night, now twice in an attempt to at least remember one dream. And do think I used to be able to simply wake up in the morning and have 6 dreams in my head? What's going on?

A lot of things can affect dream recall. Stress, diet, sleeping patterns, etc. More than likely one of those or more is affecting you. Figure out how to fix the problem and your dreams will come back soon.

Simply, you are trying too hard; all you need is patience and belief. To allocate any further mental resources to dream recall and lucid dreaming invites failure.

A friend told me about a similar experience - she wasn't having six or seven a night, but she claims she could remember two or three upon waking up. Then one day, seemingly out of the blue, she couldn't remember anything at all. After a few weeks, she said the problem was that she had lost her motivation... dreaming didn't seem exciting to her anymore, and she just needed to take a break for a while to get back into it.
