I'm usually at school or in a mall, but I tend not to use dream signs.![]()
Oh my god.. I think I just found one!
Someone mentioned loosing control while driving on the first page, and I just realized, that happens soo much in my dreams! Usually, I'm the passenger. It happened last night in my first dream I recorded, and has happened in 2 dreams before that (which i remember) So, hopefully this will trigger lucidity some day!![]()

Beginner's Guide to LDing
If you're new to lucid dreaming and don't know where to start.
Sporadic Awareness Technique (SAT)
Using awareness in small increments to quickly and easily become lucid.
Starting fresh... Dreams recalled this week: 4/5 | Lucids this month: 1/5

Seeing people from school, or a clock's face will be completely pitch black. Or I might end up walking down a street, into another dream scene such as a school setting.
Seeing old friends I haven't seen for ages, and also visiting places like my old primary or secondary school. Also, actors, as I tend to dream up movie scenarios which are either my dreams in the setting of a TV show of film (this week it's been Weeds, Sons of Anarchy, Four Brothers and Transporter), or a film with just celebrity actors in it. Hence my current goal of punching a celebrity, if I get lucid in one of those dreams...

The last two nights I've had a dream involving different kinds of races..so maybe that's one of mine...also three dreams with blonde girls, but I don't think they were the same people so it could be coincidence.
Achievements:
I sadly haven't found a dream sign.
well, I usually am outside, or houses with windows, or I go outside if I'm indoors.
but that's very broad...or there's usually a family member or close friend in my dreams
that's broad too, but I just can't seem to find one![]()

Just remembered I have another one: IRL I have an injury, so I've been using crutches for the past 5 years. But in most of my dreams they aren't even there, and if they are, I can still walk without them as good as anyone. And I can snowboard, run etc. I've sadly NEVER been able to use this dream sign to have an LD tho...

^Anyway, that sounds great.
Mine include:
Public transport, especially if there's something wrong with it (I miss a train, don't have a ticket, end up in another country etc.)
The house I grew up in
My boyfriend, my dogs, my mom
People I haven't seen for a long time
Complex buildings
I have two main dream signs. One is organ music for some reason. The other sign is Chuck Norris, and again, i have no idea why, as i am not into organ music, and Chuck Norris films.

A couple of mine are:
A picture on a wall that appears different after looking away and looking back again.
Not being able to remember how I got where I am now.
Areas or objects that are a blue-gray blur, but are surrounded by things that are greatly detailed.
Malfunctioning electronic equipment. (TVs, lights, power tools, etc.)
Guns that make noise, but don't produce any recoil or have any effect on the target.
Items with text that is unreadable, primarily signs.

Finding myself in my old high school. Or when I look in a mirror I'll start growing a full beard within seconds. I think it's because I have really thin facial hair and I've always wanted to grow a decent looking beard but can't.
Biggest dreamsign for me is water behaving strangely - especially something like an ocean just outside a window where the water is actually up to the window, or waves washing up against it. I also used to have natural disaster dreams involving two sets of stars aligning then the sun moving rapidly through the sky, usually South to North, but it's been years since i had one of those. Only the water sign has actually triggered lucidity for me though.

My main dreamsigns are snow. Either I'm on a snowy mountain or just snow on the ground. Last night in my dream it starting snowing and I could see the snow level on the ground rising as I walked. Another one is being at a school. Usually my middle school or some random college. My last one is water but its kind of broad dream sign. Its usually a lake or I'm in water. Last night in another dream I was driving over a bridge and then a second later I'm swimming on the bridge and so is everyone else haha. But I have yet to become lucid from these dream signs. Havnt since a year ago![]()
I have this morbid fascination with the Solanaceae family, especially Datura. I just find them so compelling to look at and admire. In a dream, I saw a Datura plant growing in a crack in the asphalt of a street between two parked cars. I looked closer (out of habit) and noticed that there were leaves growing out of the flowers and in bunches in ways they don't normally. This, I think, is sort of like how when you look at your hands in a dream and the fingers are all wrong or something. Not to mention Datura doesn't even grow in my area. At that point I knew I was dreaming. Whoosh!
Addendum to my previous post: Had another dream last evening that made me realize 2 dreamsigns that SHOULD have been obvious to me since I've had them so many times... one is simply being at the place I used to work about 10 years ago (I worked there for nearly 20 years) - but I never seem to question my being there. In the dream, it's just me being at work... odd. VERY repetitive dream sign. Another repetitive dream sign: Going into a bathroom where the toilets are all broken, filthy, or occupied incessantly. Surprising how obvious some dream signs can be, and yet we don't really realize that until we've been journaling for a while and it finally hits us...

Same here, and it's getting annoying! Often dreaming of either...traveling on trains, being late for trains, or I'm on the wrong train, being hit by a train, or missing a connection altogether and standing on a station platform! Yet, I've not been on a train for years!
I SHOULD NOT be missing these dream signs, but sadly I do!
When ever you point at the moon, what do you focus on?...The moon, or your finger pointing at the moon? Techniques are only "pointers" towards your goal. Your consciousness is like the moon, let it become full, expanded and brilliant through self knowledge and understanding. Proper meditation IS the best way to success.
This makes me wonder HOW does one train onesself to notice these dreamsigns? The water thing (one of mine) is fairly easy - every time I see water ANYWHERE I check if I am dreaming, and that has worked. But how do you sensitize yourself to something you do NOT do in waking life? My being at my old job, for instance... I am NEVER there, it's actually gone as it was, so I can't train myself to check if I'm dreaming by being in that environment or that situation. But there must be a way....... Any brilliant ideas out there, fellow dreamers?

For me it's levitation, that happens in almost every dream. i still don't notice though.
The problem with dreamsigns that can only happen in dreaming seems to be that - they only happen in dreaming and we cannot train ourselves by association to check. The ONLY dreamsign that has reliably triggered lucidity for me is the water stuff, and that's because any time I see a lake, a river, the ocean or even a puddle - running water - the shower... I check to determine if I'm dreaming. But since I can't levitate or fly in waking life (Oh, if only!), then I have no way of associating the dreaming check with the experience except in a meditational/imaginational setting. But it can be frustrating if I let myself think about it in that way.... but I keep on trying.

Reminds me of a recent dream that i should have been able to read as a lucid dream. I'm new though. i dreamt that i was doing a test. It was multiple choice and the letters and numbers kept changing. sigh. i'll get used to this stuff eventually
Yup - text does that a lot! I had a dream once where I did *finally* go lucid - but it took a while. I was watching text on a video monitor, and every time I looked at it it was reading differently. In my dream, I remember noticing it, but I said to myself "it's a *video monitor* - it does that kind of thing!" But I did finally say "hey - wait a minute..." and looked around and realized I was dreaming and got lucid - for all of about 45 seconds. It was good, though. A little lucidity is better than none! :-)

Another of my dreamsigns, lifts (elevators in USA). We don't have them here where I live, and have not ridden in one for years.
Ok, so now I figure that trains and "lifts"(elevators), feature in my dreams a fare bit and are important dreamsigns to me. These dreamsigns are not particularly dreamlike or unusual though. So...now all I need to do is spend some time before sleep, in deep meditation, visualizing myself as coming across a train or a "lift"...Then as I do, I strongly affirm to myself "This IS my dreamsign, this is a dream! I am fully aware that I'm dreaming!" Then I carry on with my fantasy and dream whatever I wish to dream.
Apparently, the very act of visualizing yourself in a world, of turning your mind inwards and creating that world is actually being in a lucid dream, it's just that you're body is awake! All dreams are simply thought forms, just creative thoughts.
Maybe this is a way to rehearse and prepare for dreamsigns that we keep missing in our sleeping dreams. Simply meditation and visualize yourself recognizing those dreamsigns, so that when you're next asleep and dreaming (and you see these dreamsigns), you suddenly realize that you're dreaming.
I think it's as simple as that really.

Ooh that's a great way to put it. Visualization practice IS lucid dreaming, with the body being awake. I'll contemplate that tonight before sleeping
My common dreamsigns are
1 people speaking a foreign language
2 being with or talking to an ex girlfriend
3 changing or extrzordinary architecture.
At least that's what I'm finding so far. I'm starting the long and hardy process of looking through all my DJs from the past year and cataloging. All my DSs so find the most common ones. After reading this I'll try finding those that I can test in WL too.
