But that's only the animation, right. It's not like the logo itself causes seisures. And as for the Jewish people saying it looks like a swastica, that's just sort of silly (I don't want to offend anyone, but there's probably a thousand different things that remind people of swasticas - it's no reason to completely redesign an olympic logo).

Wow. I just plain think it looks ugly. Thats just my opinion though.

I agree with exobyte. They give people 400,000 dollars, and this is what they get out of it. Seriously, they could have just hired some teenage photoshop obsesser to do this for 6 dollars an hour. I could do something like this, or better, honestly. I definitly don't like it... I don't really care, I'm just saying it's not good looking.

I think it's fine, people shouldn't whine so much, it's just a logo.

Pink and yellow on white...I just felt nauseous by looking at that small image of it, and I'm not joking...

LOL! Thanks for clarifying. I was actually wondering the same thing myself... haha. 2012... what a weird way to write it. I don't think that logo is 400,000 either, but that's just me.

Hmm, now that you've mentioned, it looks like there is a person on the right (with the olympics logo head), giving a blow job to the person on the left, who happens to have a parallelogram-sized-penis.

I could do a better job and thats saying something! I thought the shapes were the river Thames or something then.

Wow, looks like they were trying to give people epileptic seizures on purpose! Wtf where they thinking with all the blinking colors at the end... wow. The ad was alright at some parts, nothing to brag about. Some of the effects were pretty neat (the guys on the wheel chair playing looked cool), but everything else was pretty bad... the music was laughable.

Oh well... I didn't pay the money for that crappy ad, so I'm not worried about it.

it looks like a 4 year old cut up some paper and threw it on the floor.

That promotional video is insane. It's like the makers actually wanted everyone who watched it to have a seizure.

Seriously what the hell was up with that pool scene? 5 seconds of non-stop blinking lights.

Wow, I'm a designer and I got no problem saying that's pretty bad... for what it's representing.

I mean, I think it was London's sad attempt at making a hip, trendy, MTV-ish logo. You can't do that for something like the Olympics - it's a monumental and global event that encompasses pride and achievement. However, it's not always the designers fault - I know there are very talented designers in the UK. What probably happened was bad decision making and conceptualizing from another source:

One thing we need to keep in mind that many decisions that are made for such a high profile piece are done by comittee. Many times this comittee have no sense of design whatsoever. They'll give a designer an idea or concept, which the designer will carry out quite well. Then, upon critiques comes revisions. Before you know it, there's 10 people "designing" something - the creative person is left simply doing production.

I'd be very interested to read about how they came up with the logo (if any one can, please provide link to an article if they see one).

Just put out a contest for people to design a new logo, winner gets a thousand bucks. I mean seriously, virtually any decent graphic designer on DEVIANTART can come up with better than that, and they would love to do it for free. Meh.

Aside from the fact that it looks like a logo for a clothing company in the 1980's, I don't see anything specifically wrong with it.

Wow some of those past logos are really cool.

Dayamn didn't anyone think that would cause seizures. There's a 5 second or so segment that is pure flashing images.

I just want to stir up the pot.........I've read about this logo online at the website www.davidicke.com, and ther are some pretty elaborate conspiracy theories regarding the symbolism of this logo, and the whole "world domination hidden agenda" of the powers that be. In all honesty, if you look close enough at the characters of the symbol, it's easy to interperet the logo as saying "Zion", and seriously, what the f*ck was up with that commercial? It did kind of seem like some weird piece of media designed to induce god only knows what on an unsuspecting population. Anyway, just something to think about, I don't necessarily believe conspiracy theories, but the quality of the logo seems very poor to me, and the commercial was just plain weird.
