      Here are some questions if you've read it before:

      Spoiler for Questions:
      1. What the heck is this thing?

      2. It drips green? Does that mean it bleeds green?

      3. It said it would hang with all of its legs... Does that mean there are more than two?

      Read Kafka's Metamorphesis. Much better. Uses quotaton marks correctly, too... The theory I like best in that book is that the main character (transformed into a bug) represents a member of the family who has become crippled or disabled in some way. The family ignores the crippled member at first until they turn against him for being a leech of their time and finances, etc.
