yeah I occasionally do this. Most the time I stumble across more of their posts which usually come in helpful.

I "profile surf" sometimes. I think it's cool to see the things people have written previously. Especially if it seems as though that person is an interesting person.

I typically am on the lookout for unread posts (seen above your posts), so that in case there is a newbie all alone, I can greet them, & they don't have to wait 24 hours to be greeted, or maybe I am waiting for Splash to respond to a post.
Usually, if I start to spy on profiles (after looking at all the unread posts) like to spy mostly on the mods profiles, but my favs would have to be splash's & uwonkaa's profiles, b/c we are good friends in school. Sometimes I will PM them that way!!

Sometimes. It's a good way to get a better perspective on someone's post. If you go back and review their other posts, you sort of get a feel for how they communicate. You also get an idea of what kind of person they are, which helps you to understand what they are trying to say. Also, if someone makes an interesting point, you might want to check to see what else they have to say.
